Status: offline 		Not very PC here. I use girl, and chick often. I don't view roles online as then that comes across as some type of RP. I think terms are only seen as degrading when there is no doubt that they are meant that way, otherwise it is just a term. From what I gathered the OP was referring to the younger females he has been contacted by or is contacting.

Is protocol actually expected? I mean we used to get told all the time in another section that maintaining protocol was an unreasonable expectation.

Status: offline 		I don't see where it really played a part in it. I see instead some that took offense to something really minor. This is not in the "Ask a Mistress" section, so I see over reaction to the use of something really minor at best.

My personal opinion is that his post comes across whinny and shows a lack of how to express himself in a way that he is understood. To jump on the "girl" term seems kind of petty when there is other major issues coming across.

I responded to the OP regarding the other issues as I saw them.

For me personally I would no more think of calling you or any Dom/Gorean or Regular Master/Sir/Lord/ as a "boy" if he was younger than me(as the other poster suggested) unless it was a condescending comment. And I do them quite well without resorting to that. I tend not to use a term to denigrate anyones "orientation" within the BDSM arena.

Im neither insulted or offended, by the term girl, chick, broad. etc. If its meant as a slight towards me, that just says more about their lack of couth than mine.
While I dont read everything you write in the Gorean fora, Ive never seen you refer to a freewoman as a freegirl.
It wasnt the OP I was responding to anyway, but rather Myos response to the other poster, that you responded to:) If that makes sense.

Used in general, similar to "boys will be boys" when referring to males above the age of 18, I see no harm in it. If we were in a protocol zone, then that would be different.

If it is meant as an intentional slight, I would agree that it is incorrect to use it then, but that is not apparent to me.

Free Woman is a specific term, and used in specific area. Apples and oranges there. I have referred to a group of females as "girls" when they have been mixed personality types. It is not meant as a slight, and none took it that way.

Makes sense, my assessment still stands though.

Well, you and I happen to be the same age currently. So Id have to know when you are going to hit the big 40 in relation to when I will so I can know whether to refer to you as a "boy" or a "man." Perhaps those of us born in the same year should have hybrid names?

well I'm not sure. Do you go around and say Hey Man? Is Giman not FBI? It is my experience that when girls not farther will tell or talk about their real age, then they are womens, so it's hard to put a number on

In my GF's ideal fantasy, I only have enough to pay for dinner and the show when I take her out. I've spent the last eleven years disabusing her of this notion. OK, now that I've picked myself up off the floor from laughing ...

The long thread title resulted in the word "money" being truncated to "mon," and in my just breezing through things and looking haphazardly, I initially read the latter part of it as - "but it seems as though 90% of girls on CM just want my mom."

That would have been SO much more interesting.

I could even add- "and perhaps more understandable," but I'll just stop there.
