They aren't bad... for you. But they bring to mind pee and poop and those things most adults would prefer to forgo unless it was a child who is related to them. You asked about hard limits. People don't really need to justify any limit to anyone. They just need to select compatible partners.

OP, if diapers are what floats your kink boat...more power to you rock those diapers with fierceness... However... Not everyone feels the same way. More power to them and they rock their kink with fierceness as well. Like MasterCaneman, I spent years working with folks who wore adult diapers. It's just not my idea of a good time.

If I'm going into a relationship (short of parenthood) knowing I'm going to fulfill the traditional caretaker role (i.e. feeding, cleaning, generally looking after, et al) and it's not literally I think I'll enter into that relationship with a dog. They generally make more reliable, less demanding, company. Otherwise, like many here, I generally prefer someone I can form a working partnership with and whose attire I find sexy.
