Up to 13 Texas men cheered as they filmed each other raping a 13-year-old girl, according to an Austin police report.

The girl told detectives that she was picked up by three strangers after running away from Settlement Home for Children on June 30. Court records said she was taken to the Avalon Palms Apartments and sexually assault by between 10 and 13 men.

KTBC reported that 24-year-old Juan Lozano Ortega and 26-year-old Edgar Gerardo Guzman Perez were arrested on Wednesday in connection with crime.

Ortega is accused of raping the girl while the other men cheered and filmed with their cellphones. The other men then allegedly took turns in the rape, which “lasted several hours.”

Evidence gathered during a forensic exam backed up the girl’s version of events.

An affidavit said that the victim was driven to a nearby neighborhood after the assault and told to “find somewhere to go.” Police were able to track down Ortega and Perez because one of them let the girl borrow his cellphone to call her foster brother, who captured the caller ID.

If Ortega and Perez are found guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child, they could be sentenced to life in prison. Police are continuing to search for additional suspects.

State child welfare investigators are also looking into to Settlement Home for Children, which takes care of abused and neglected girls under 18.

As for the link, the page says it was TEN men but that's a minor quibble.

Also, I took notice that FOX is a legitimate place to get a story when the PPLs agree with what's broadcast.

Having said that; if the attack is actually on video, then this should be a slam-dunk.

Unfortunately, since the bleeding heart Pablum™ pukers have had their way, there's no death sentence in Texas, anymore. That's the real shame, here.

Status: offline 		Another statistic--child in CPS care gets gang raped... This happens alot at that children's home for kids removed from their parents. It's in the bad part of Austin and surrounded by scum walking the streets. The line about "state investagoars are looking into the settlement home for children" is a joke. CPS knows all that goes on there and has been going on for years... Because it all involves children it's all kept 'confidential' and very little is ever made public.

Gave me the impression that the "commission" had succeeded. If ever a crime called for the Death Penalty, it's the rape of a child.

So, just to put a little fuel into the fire: Why isn't the DP on the menu for such a heinous crime? A travesty, in my mind.

Now, if she ends up getting pregnant from this...I shudder to think what she must be going through right now, and I hope she's now being protected...do people in Texas feel that rapists have the right to use a 13 year old's body to carry on their genes? I'm sure there are some assholes out there who feel it's "not right" to abort even in this horrific situation, and would rather force her to go through months and months of even MORE torment. Hopefully the hospital gave her something to prevent pregnancy. HOPEFULLY!

I am probably one of the staunchest pro-lifers on this site and I have always made exceptions for rape, incest, health of the mother. I can't imagine too many would wish that type of thing on a 13 year old, especially.

I don't think that we can assume that the treatment at the facility is worse than getting gang raped. I'm not saying it isn't. I'm saying I don't think we can assume it.

Yes, agreed,

it's just that if there were a desert around her that might just make her not want to run as well, because of the fear of crossing it.
my sentiment was simply that there was a possibility of her running from something even worse.

So sad.
