garyFLR -> Words Of Advice... (7/22/2013 6:20:51 AM)

This may be a tad audacious of me as I've only been a CM member for a short while.

I feel that a few words of advice, on how to conduct oneself in a public forum might be a good idea. As everyone will understand, this is not directed at any ONE individual.

Whether a member is Dominant, switch, or submissive, on the message boards, everybody is equal, & deserves respect.

Members have the right not to be referred to as ugly, fat, bitches, losers etc, merely because a poster gets annoyed at views that oppose their own.

The Forums are a resource for discussion, humour & debate, not an opportunity to have the Screaming Abdabs.

New members will have more luck in finding who they're searching for, or achieving their aims, if they treat people the way they, themselves would like to be treated.

Nobody gets anywhere by behaving like a teenager who's had their first couple of beers.

Anybody wishing to add any further nuggets of wisdom, please feel free [:)].

But what if they are ugly, fat, loser, bitches?

Judge not lest ye be judged,

I have a question for you ShaharThorne:-

How come when I start a thread, it always falls down the well of silliness [:D]?

I've a feeling I've shot myself in the foot over this one!

It was not my intention to be harsh, seriously.

I repeat: What if they are? All of those descriptors are subjective so, there's always room for difference of opinion.

So, what if they are?

Just looking for answers,

Marco Polo

I am not fat!~!!

(I am an ugly bitch tho)

garyFLR -> RE: Words Of Advice... (7/22/2013 6:56:04 AM)

I would say that, as you say, all those terms are subjective, used in the correct context, there's nothing wrong with them. If those terms, however, are used in a pejorative fashion, purely to be abusive & hurtful, then whoever uses them should be open to censure.

Could it be possible to move on swiftly to other areas of my thread [:D]?

Hush, pahunkboy, or I'll send the Disco police round to stamp on your punk records, besides, I'm sure you're gorgeous [:D].

Congratulations on your date by the way!

While I could not read the entire post (I have the attention span of a child), I enjoyed reading what I did - thank you for posting the link.
I really liked the 3-1 odds in favor of women. In my perfect world...nm.

Gary, I thought it was just me seeing so much negativity lately - but it's not just here I've noticed it. Also, there seems to be an issue of too much uptightness.
I would think all the summer sun would feed people's inner-sunshine, but I suppose all the heat could be getting to everyone. If only I could hose them all down [:D]

This is the one that has been popping up for me lately, here and in real life: Just because it isn't working the way YOU want it to, doesn't mean it isn't working the way it's supposed to.

Maybe you are just reading the ONE unmoderated thread. Usually calling names like that will get you a gold letter. I once called someone an idiot...and they were...and got a stern warning.

But to your question...In the unmoderated thread I was surprised by some of the level headed people that were calling others names... There was no need to because they were winning the debate in my opinion. I guess we have to realize not everyone is able to control their tempers and the only way to lash out on a message board is to try and hurt some ones feelings. I understand it but never do it myself because I think it is childish.

That thread is a good example of "Be careful of what you wish for". There are people in that thread that have shown themselves to be someone other than who I thought they were and I'm disappointed in them.

But isn't it better to know who you are dealing with and their true character?

Butch
