Is it appropriate to tell people with unnecessarily unreadable profiles here that their choice of background or font makes the profile extremely difficult to read?

Here's one, for example, of many, with a dark font on a dark background.
I've removed identifying portions just so that you can see what I'm talking about.

Is it just me or does everyone have a difficult time reading these profiles?
What do you do when you see them? Do you notify the owner?

Many times in the past I've made the mistake of trying to be helpful and letting people know that their profile was almost impossible to read. Most responded with something like a "f*ck you!".

If I want to read it, I just do a left click with my mouse and slide it over their words, this will highlight the writing so that I am able to read it.

Nowadays I figure that their profile is their problem and I try not to offer any profile advice when it's not been asked for. (I said TRY, because sometimes I just can't keep my opinion to myself.) [:D]

I shrug my shoulders and move onto the next profile. How hard is that? Why do you have to do something about it?

Once again, lw nails it! [:)]

Aside from the futility of critiquing strangers, I do enough editing at work.

I feel the same way. If they're not smart enough to realize that they've made their profile unreadable, I probably wouldn't be interested anyway.

I'm not the profile police.  Although when I was looking, if I couldn't read the profile I would usually just hit next.  When I did actually attempt to read the profile, I would often times see a comment in the profile saying that they knew their profile was bright or hard to read but they liked it and weren't going to change it.  Those definately got a "Next!"

And yes, most people receiving criticism out of the blue will not take it to be well meaning. If they don't get any responses, they'll learn. If they don't learn, then really, don't you think being that stupid/stubborn is sufficient?

In addition, it's usually only the very young who use these colors and it may well be deliberate in order to prevent any older guys from coming on to them. In which case, more power to them for finding a way to get the ones who ignore age limits from writing them.

Interesting post....beyond measure....

I actually told a Domme just 3 weeks ago, who had an unreadable font...."Listen chickee....that font doesn't do it for me....if you want ME (and many do)...you better clean up your act...AND your font".

Over time, (for those just starting out) it may take a few conversations, but....these chicks WILL get the message.

Font matters.

(Get it together chicks).
