You make the accusation of lying quite easily, I find this unsurprising from a government Man. Some will take any minor discrepancy to their greatest advantage whenever possible, if for no other reason but to stroke their own ego, such as a child enjoying the wonders of masturbation. Thus they not only call even slightly imprecise statements lies, and call people liars to make themself feel superior morally, when they know better. I know this because they would not do this if they were better.
CBS and the Mercury theater learned something that day, that not alll were gifted with the common sense acquired by the adept in life, those unencumbered by personal hangups and such. The people who never grew out of their teachings, or dare I say memorizings. To never suppose, or dream, nor to invent, because invention requires imagination and sense, and difficult mental work, not memorization and factual recognizance. Precision in events is really useless in the true analysis of the world.
To those people back then, for some of them, 38 minutes and 55 seconds were really the end of the world as they knew it. And after that, like I said and have now confirmed, was an epilogue, describing how life might be under the new masters of what used to be our planet. Too bad if they had to go to the bathroom, there was no equivalent of a DVR or TIVO. So much for that.
So people come in here and demonstrate the awesome power of the media and how it can easily be abused, and you shit on them for a few technical difficulties. Do you rememnber Star Trek, the original series ? Certain people are what would be termed either a Captain Dunsel, or a Herbert. Their petty bickering on details dilutes much meaning from most discussions.
Be proud of your superiority. hopefully you are an accountant or something so that all the beans are tabulated and accounted for. Everyone who does not have a photographic memory is a liar, we got that figured out.
