Dear God, Eric is about to kill everyone.
Three episodes left!

kallisto -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 1:55:56 AM)

I didn't see this coming ... not sure what direction I thought they were taking, but I don't think it was this.

TNDommeK -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 2:57:08 AM)

Does anyone know if this is the last season?

And I thought bill was going to get Jessica. Why didn't he after he killed the gov.?

LadyPact -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 1:34:01 PM)

Shahar, don't look.

Actually, True Blood has already released that it will continue for Season 7. That announcement came out July 15 and the expectation is that Season 7 will be ready for summer of 2014.

The past couple of episodes made Me wonder if the show has realized (due to fewer episodes per season) if they have over-extended themselves with too many story lines that could have been interesting, but are too distanced from the main plot of the show to keep viewers interested with limited time to develop. It's just wasn't possible to harp on Terry's PTSD forever or try to keep viewers concerned about it until the end of time, especially when the lives of the super-naturals are put up against challenges and foes that have to be faced in more of a 'here and now' sense. While I was sad to see him go, I thought they came up with a great way to write him out. (They probably should have glammared him years ago to get him to forget what he carried with him from the war and it makes you wonder why on earth nobody ever thought of that before.)

Like some of the other villains that have crossed the shows path, the Governor of Louisiana had way too much potential to be gone so soon. Realistically, Sarah Newlin can't hide his death for very long, so any implied power that she's got at 'Vamp Camp' isn't going to be that difficult to overturn. They could write both her and Steve Newlin out of the show without too much of a hassle by the end of the season.

The new eye candy, James, the vampire who wouldn't force Jessica to have sex, but would when she decided she was willing, is a hot little thing. I could definitely stand seeing more of him.

TNDommeK -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 3:03:38 PM)

He is no Eric Northman ( who made me cry like a bitch on this last episode) but ill keep an eye out as well. Ya know, just to make sure he is a good actor and all. [;)]

Does it matter that according to everyone who read the books, that the HBO version is so far off the book versions, that it might as well be a based on a different series altogether?

Personally I have a bit of a problem with the "modern" view of vampires, the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice pushed it, but now they sparkle, are/were legally recognized as a minority, walk in the daylight (back to the sparkle thing) and can be socially acceptable drinking fake blood?

I mean all this "modern" vampire stuff should have a freaking thread of its own!

I'm not going to read any of the foregoing because it might contain spoilers and I'm only on Series 5. But, a question: does everyone in the cast deliberately mispronounce Tara's name to sound like 'Terror', or would it be pronounced that way in that part of the USA anyway? Reason I ask is because 'Terror' suits her so well as a nickname.

kallisto -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 4:19:34 PM)

I agree with LadyPact .. way too many story lines to continue. I'm looking forward to seeing more of James too. [:)]

My daughter read the books and she and I talk about how they don't follow the books ... but it really makes no difference to me. It's not the first series or movie that didn't follow the book.

And TNDommeK ... omg .... My daughter was home visiting this weekend and we got to watch it together (instead of talking about it afterwards) and we both looked at each other when we both at the same time watching Eric ...

TNDommeK -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 7:43:15 PM)

Lol Kallisto. I know right!

Well down here I'd say Tara, as in ter-ra.

LadyPact -> RE: True blood (cont.) (7/29/2013 8:01:23 PM)

MP and I were talking about this over dinner and he came up with an interesting theory.

We may see more of Terry in a "beyond the grave" type of storyline in Season 7. It would be a nice lead in to see Lafeyette more included.

Keep in mind, this was conjecture and not a spoiler because we don't know.

I love me some La La!

Yes it should be pronounced that way for that area of the US. I agree that Terror is a good nickname as well.

TNDommeK .... did you watch it last night? [:)]

Aha! I am now up to date and am therefore able to grace this thread with my full attention.

Damn, it's such a good series. In fact, it's so good that the other series I've been watching have begun to look feeble by comparison. Perhaps because I've been watching so many episodes back-to-back, I'm not at all bothered by all the themes - they all gel for me.

And still the best opening credits and theme song that I can recall having seen and heard, ever.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info.

I shall always have a soft spot for Tara, natch. Feisty. Yup.

[:)] Yay! I like the music too!

MalcolmNathaniel -> RE: True blood (cont.) (8/5/2013 5:27:52 PM)

The theme song is great! I've sung it to a couple of girls and got them to moan.

Please, call me K. Yes!!! I did! I can't wait to see what Eric does!

LadyPact -> RE: True blood (cont.) (8/6/2013 2:10:25 AM)

I think Eric's going to be a one vamp killing machine. I can't wait to see exactly how he is going to cause the demise of the doc who shot his sister up with the Hep V.

Since Eric went and got himself a drink of Warlow, he'll be able to save everybody who is in the circular room where they all meet the sun. It's just a matter of letting the other vampires feed off of him a bit.
