Wellllll... The wrist is nearly back to 100%....glad I told the doctors no to the surgery and pins thing. Lots of food preserving going on. Mostly preserves so far but applesauce season is coming. And loaded the deep freeze with meat this week. The wild blackberries are going nuts and made some really awesome preserves last weekend. Finally got the GSD's skin allergies gone. It was diet related so switched her food. All new protein and no grains at all. I even make my own doggy cookies now cuz Generic Dude feels he has to give them a treat in the morning. The job switch in January has been positive. It was a surprising weirdness for me in a few ways. Going from being da boss to just being a peon (even though they try to convince me otherwise). I didn't just fall off the cabbage truck and know otherwise. But I've adapted and am actually loving the difference. I leave the house about 20 minutes before 8, drive leisurely for 10 minutes, drop my stuff at my office, stroll through the courtyard admiring the flowers, get a cuppa coffee and visit with a few co-workers, punch in around 8, stroll through shipping to pick up some paperwork then on through the facility wishing a good morning to all I see, laugh at the cat that comes running to my office when he hears me. I spend the day doing ridiculously easy work and hanging out with a goofy cat. I get free fresh fruit to munch at work and fresh from the garden produce to have for lunch or bring home for dinner. At 4:30 I take a walk back through the courtyard, hit the time clock again, make that 10 minute drive in reverse and am home and changed at a time earlier than I would have locked up at the previous job. I have A LOT more free time. The wrist really messed up my camera handling and therefor my photography biz. Just getting back in the groove now. Have a commercial job coming up. The wrist (and a broken toe....)also messed up my ability to work out. I've lost weight since April (the wrist mess) but gotten softer. Been working on that for a few weeks in as much as the wrist and a numb toe will allow. Lot's more hiking going on. I haven't ridden since before the wrist debacle.........my horses are a handful and a rider has to be on A game. I'm almost ready for that challenge again. In the beginning phases of planning an s-type sweetie's move here. She's from Boston and just a delight. I am so impressed with her and the way her head works. We are looking at a December/January time frame for her move. Some stresses with family issues.........adult children can be a real pain in the ass......but hey, who doesn't have stresses with family at some point or other?
