Status: offline 		I have asked this years ago, but like to have your comments here again; as an Asian sub, I always have an inclination of being dominated by Mistresses from other races. Is this part of race play, and is this common?

Race play is not as common as dirt, but it is in the realm of common.

I've never understood this at all. There is no way I would ever consent to play with anybody who is not of the same race as I am.

Being with someone from another race, and "race play" aren't the same thing.

Many people participate in inter-racial dating. It's not even considered kinky anymore.

Race play, on the other hand, places the emphasis on the racial aspect. It may draw upon racial stereotypes, and may involve negative terms to describe your race. For example, I'm African-American and I've often been asked to pretend to be a plantation slave, or a gang banger. I've also been asked if I would mind if they called me the N-word as part of our play. Frankly, I find these things offensive. But there are plenty of people who get off on that kind of thing.

If you go to Fetlife, there are plenty of groups dedicated to race play. No matter what racial combination you're looking for, there will be a group devoted to it (e.g. "Black Dommes who love Asian male subs" or "White Dommes who seek BBC subs" or "Gay transsexual Native American Doms who seek straight, cross-dressing Arab slaves"). So if you have a certain racial preference, just type it into the search on Fetlife, and the groups that are dedicated to that combination will come up.

Status: offline 		I am gonna sorta go off topic briefly. But in a way it is on topic. My girl is half Irish, half Jamaican (and must be black Irish at that). Anyhow, her family is well off, she grew up in Boston (Quincy, actually) and moved a few years ago to Las Vegas. Goofing around a little with race play (sorta kinda, hard to explain) she tried talking ebonics. I have since forbade her to ever attempt it again. It was worse than fingernails on a blackboard.

Just like Roch, not everybody is cut out to fulfill their stereotype. And it is a case of careful what you ask for, you might get it.

But in all seriousness Peter, I would consider this a personal preference. Some men are only turned on by women of one particular race, like those who have a so-called Asian Female Fetish. Yours might be considered by some to be an anti-Asian Fetish, if being with an Asian woman is an absolute turn-off for you. There are those who prefer solely one race, whether it's their own or not. It could be they prefer blacks or Latinos. I personally prefer Caucasian males. I've been attracted to a Hispanic man once, and I do think Spaniard Antonio Banderas is hot (although others might see him as more European, hence Caucasian).

I will say this, though. It's depersonalizing to be treated as a fetish object. Or worse, a sex object to fool around with but not good enough to take home to meet your mother and the rest of your family of origin. If you aren't willing to hitch your wagon (carriage would be my preference) to someone, then you have no business getting involved with that person at the onset, IMFHO. That's just me. A guy can take his Asian fetish and shove it as far as I'm concerned. This has always been a touchy subject with me because I'm half Asian. There was a time in my life when this became a Catch-22 situation. I've never liked that "Other" racial category (sometimes now there is a "Mixed" category)--Other, as in an unknown non-Earthling alien species? On top of that, on my father's side we are 1/8-1/16 Native American Indian. I also grew up in Hawaii for part of my childhood, so does that make me a Hawaiian? No, I cannot claim to be a native Pacific Islander.

Unless you are seeking to be humiliated for being Asian with these Mistresses, including having them make derogatory racial remarks directed at you, it wouldn't be Race Play. I recently passed over a houseboy-with-benefits arrangement with a guy around my same [middle]age who runs his own businesses, but makes himself available once or twice a week. One thing that really turned me off about him was that he kept referring to himself as a 'White Boy Slave,' as in here's your own personal white boy at your disposal. As long as I wasn't fully white, and was height-weight proportionate, that's all he cared about in the Mistress he served. Way too impersonal, and I expect better than that.

IMO, whether it's race play or not depends on the motivations and feelings of you and the partner. It could be simply a personal preference in dominants and they may have a pull, race-interest or not, towards you and you match up and it's not race play at all. Or you two could get together specifically because you like the aspect of using your races as part of your interactions, as a significant thing that is to some extent focused on, used, is the motivating reason for being together that you are different and want to show race as part of your dynamic.

If you just find other raced females attractive and want to be dominated by one, that's just a person preference... it's like someone saying "I'm blond but I really want to be dominated by someone with a different hair color". An aspect of what one is attracted to or likes the idea of.

If it's about you and your partner using the racial difference as a key matter in your relationship, make it important and play with it, then yes I'd call it race play.

Without knowing your personal feelings, motivations, desires, whatever and knowing hers, whoever you meet, then making that call isn't something I can do.
