Status: offline 		Note that the troopers search the motorists' vaginal and anal cavities for drugs but not socks or shoes and that they do not change gloves between cavities or between searching the different women.

Multiple highway patrol officers in Texas have been captured by dash cams doing 'unconstitutional' cavity searches on women's genitals during traffic stops. Lawyers and civil rights advocates say the 'mind-boggling' searches are all too common.

The first video was graphic enough. Two women, as shown in a Texas state trooper’s dash cam recording, are probed in their vaginas and rectums by a glove-wearing female officer after a routine traffic stop near Dallas.

A few days later, a second video surfaced. It was an eerily similar scenario, but this time the traffic stop was just outside Houston, and with different troopers. Two women, pulled over for allegedly speeding, are subjected to body cavity searches by a female officer summoned to the scene by a male trooper.

Unlike the earlier tape, this one had clear audio. Yells can be heard as the female trooper shoves her gloved finger inside one woman.

In both invasive incidents, the female troopers don't change gloves between probes, according to the horrified victims.

Texas officials say the searches are unconstitutional. So do attorneys for the shaken women, who have filed federal lawsuits.

But lawyers and civil rights advocates tell the Daily News these cavity searches are really standard policy among the Texas Department of Public Safety’s state troopers, despite their illegality — not to mention that they were conducted on the side of the road in full view of passing motorists.

Status: offline 		Look, I dont say this too loudly, because I do not want Governor Perry's secret anti-moderate and liberal elimination squads to track me down, but this is Texas, just what the hell did you expect? Law Enforcement Officers showing a bit of sensitivity? They did that when they had female officers do the search.

Yeah, I used to feel that way as well, when I typed paragraphs and paragraphs of well reasoned facts and arguments. But I gave that up when I determined that most who post here are dipshits.

Clearly it is molestation. Put them in prison. Alas, you have to deal with the state of Texas and people who only possess a witty name, failing all else.


Have they violated the constitution? Is anyone screaming for a federal prosecutor?

However, once more, we are talking about Texas. Done here they execute retarded convicts, among other things.

In those terms, they practiced restraint by having female officers do the search.

We have the least restrictive gun laws which I disagree with and I own guns, and just passed a very restrictive anti abortion bill. The state has taken Gerrymandering to an art form to keep the state republican.

Men in Texas hold women in high esteem, as long as they stay in the bedroom and kitchen.

Trooper Kelley Helleson, who was later fired after the Texas Department of Public Safety investigated, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of official oppression. Trooper David Farrell was charged with theft after the women said their prescription went missing following last summer’s incident. The women, Ashley Dobbs, 24, and her aunt Angel Dobbs, 38, filed a suit last year saying they were traumatized by the search.

I will rephrase. ANYONE who can cook- move to the front of the line!!! I love to eat.


Onto the uproar- on fb the reaction has been mild ...from my circle of activists. I think the dog being shot was more of an issue.

Are things so boring here you have to bring up old news ?

that story (including dash cam video) was on the news here (Houston) for several days.. so yeah, it was on peoples radar..
