Vendaval -> Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 5:03:34 PM)

How many of you think that metrosexual are desireable partners
for kinksters?  And does your answer depend on Scene orientation
or sexual preference or gender identity?

If you would liked some clarification on the term, check out

Anyone can be desirable as a partner to someone in any lifestyle which they choose.

Obviously not. ::chuckles::

Yes, why should they be any less desirable than a gay man, a lesbain, a bi man/woman, straight man/woman?
My answer is based on being able to choose your own lifestyle whoever you are or whatever you are.

LadyMorgynn -> RE: Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 5:17:02 PM)

Does it really matter?  I mean, each person is different and has varying interests, within and without BDSM.  This is just another variation on the "do (insert adjective of choice: metro, bi, straight, fat, thin, poly, gay, brunette, etc.) people belong in BDSM?"  The answer is YES.

I would personally not find a metrosexual an appealing partner...just not my type.

missturbation -> RE: Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 5:30:29 PM)

Hadn't thought of it like that - but yeah your right.
Its a shame - as far as im concerned whoever you are you have the right to live the lifestyle you choose.

Did I read the intent of this thread wrong? I thought the question was simply one of personal preference as to partner selection....not that it was whether or not metrosexuals should be allowed in this lifestyle. Gosh, at least I hope that is not what is being implied.

Driver1961 -> RE: Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 5:41:15 PM)

EXCUSE ME! Hoe dare you Vendaval initiate a thread devoid of personal opinion!

What Da?   This is somewhat a homophobic term used by members of society that wish to distance themselves from males who wish to groom themselves impecably.  Is it used by 'slobs' or people into 'slobs' to justify their lack of appearance in grooming?   Obviously we all have personal tastes but really?   Should I start a thread asking if people that dress in saggy cotton tracksuit pants are suitable to be in the Lifestyle?  (They are not suitable under my whip but thats personal taste)

In short I'd rather be practical and  have a 'groomed' girl to connect with than some feral ungroomed dustbather!   Then again some women  prefer to have their men bathe in dust to increase their smell of maleness.   Now to me that's Kinky!

I just love participating in generalizations!

Laughs to all.

Maybe im wrong but it appeared to me that by saying are they desirable partners it was perhaps a should they be in the lifestyle.
The comment u quoted was made in response to stereotyping not the original question.
Apologies if i have it wrong. Things are sometimes hard to read.

Vendaval -> RE: Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 6:03:54 PM)

You got the intent right, Erin.  Just a question about personal
preference in partner selection.

Didn't anyone read the entire definition which I did?  Metrosexuals are STRAIGHT men who take care of themselves and enjoy the finer things in life.  There is nothing confusing about that.  I PREFER them.  Be they Dom or submissive.  What the hell is wrong with a well dresssed Man who smells good, is properly groomed, doesn't have B.O., has nicely manicured nails that don't cut my very soft skin, who's feet don't look like a whooly mammath, owns a Tux, clothes fit properly, hires Limo's for me, knows about the night life, wine, fine food and likes the Symphony???  Metrosexuals are VERY common in the professional world and among the wealthy; it is almost the norm.  It is a pampered Man of sophistication, taste and culture who I find secure in his masculinity.  Doesn't have anything to do with sexuality, submissiveness, etc.  Its about grooming and culture.  Frankly, most of the slobs I've known were losers with major issues about who and what they were.  ALL of the metrosexuals I have known were very successful DOMS and trust me, they were kinky but not GAY (maybe proudly bi), and Man enough to come out if they had been.  They can be whatever They want to be.  They can afford to pamper themselves AND ME!!!  I got no problem sipping champagne on our cruise to the Bahamas getting our cocoa butter facials.  Uh huh.  I know whats going on in the cabin.  A neandrathal is a HUGE let down after being with a man of taste and culture.  I LOVE metrosexuals they make me all tingly.

pixiedustboo -> RE: Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 6:11:05 PM)

i believe that any person can be a desireable partner.

i however would not be attracted to a metrosexual.  Unless He could get down and dirty too.  personally i believe some of the "he-man" image (that i like) would be taken away if He was sitting across from me getting His nails done with me....  *Shudders at the thought.*

LadiesBladewing -> RE: Are metrosexuals desireable partners for kinksters? (6/29/2006 6:13:38 PM)

Absolutely. They may not be a suitable partner for one person, but as broad and deep as the possibilities go in BDSM, D/s, and M/s, there is certain to be someone or some -ones- who are going to have an outstanding time with a metrosexual partner.

If he fit in every other way, we'd be glad to welcome one to our enclave.

You said it, BuxomGoddess -- In former days, I think they used to call these "gentlemen"... Our Phantomdream was a gentleman, and darned tootiin' we'd love to find another!

I'm sorry but I did read the definition...and made note of the part that said

quote:

Usually is on the brink of homosexuality.

I also know a few self-professed metrosexuals. I have to say that from a submissive standpoint they are not exactly the epitome of dominance. I see nothing wrong with a well groomed man. I want one who cleans up well but isn't afraid to get himself dirty.  I am not interested in a man who is worried about the state of his manicure and what designer label is inside of his shirt. That is superficial to me. I like my men to be manly, masculine men who aren't afraid to pick up an axe and chop a pile of wood, who don't mind being up to their elbows in the cavity of a deer and who won't throw a hissy fit about the dirt under their nails after working on the car. Each to his/her own. This was about personal preferences was it not.

I concur with Bita on this Q. - Susan
