I really liked Eccleston in the role.

Carrots sliced into circles! Batons, grated or cubes are fine but not circles!

FR

Am I too late to weigh in on the pavement debate?

American husband understood pavement to refer to the sidewalk - perhaps it's a regional thing? And 'motorway' refers to a very specific type of road with a higher speed limit, no stopping, no learner drivers, no pedestrians etc.

Things that annoy me: People who assume every photograph of a Victorian child is a post mortem, and feel the need to re-blog and re-pin them with that caption all over the internet. Yes I know post mortem photography was a thing, but it's not as though there was a rule that only deceased people were photographed. Some of those photos are like the new wave of urban myths.

The milkman - every time he sees me out running he feels the need to stop me, and I have to take out my earbuds to hear today's version of the same lame joke about how I'd better keep running and not walk. I'm trying! Maybe I'm actually annoyed at myself for being too polite to ignore him and run right past while he's trying to talk to me.

People who come in to work and make snidey, half-joking comments about how we're rolling in money and ripping them off. We are so freaking honest, we absolutely bend over backwards to be transparent. And it's not such a lucrative business as everyone seems to think. And then they give me a hard time for refusing to bend the law in their case. Oddly enough, 'it's just a few quid' isn't a compelling argument. I'm not going to risk losing the company license over any deal, let alone one that's probably worth pennies in profit to us.

Bluebottles. Argh! Every time I open a window...

You can't watch quite all fifty years worth, which is something that bugs me no end, if I'm honest.

Snap, though one remains hopeful :-P

Quite frankly, should I ever be around if/when time travel is invented I'm going back to tape them :-P

I remember watching the classic Who on PBS and forcing my brothers to watch it with me.

And Mom wondered why I did not want to go to church the next day...

I love the banter between Americans and Brits and usually take part enthusiastically but ve been up 18 hours and Im kapurtled/knackered, so Im gonna heat up some spotted dick n custard n relax with a new book!
My sister is 50 this year is still scared of daleks from watching as a lil kid!
someday im gonna get around to writing down my fantasies of Chris Eccleston, David Tennant, John Barrowman and James Marsters. Makes a hole in time take on a whole new meaning.

Americans whining about cricket, while treating rounders like it's a proper game for grown men.

Cricket is even boring to play.

Actually that's quite true, no smiley either, because it is fucking boring. Did anyone watch the Ashes? The rain saved our arses [:(].

Fanfiction in general. I had a former student I tutored in writing who interpreted "Yeah, I kinda like Star Trek" into "Yes! I want to read every syllable of your latest creation! Don't bother to ask! Just send them to my inbox and then follow up every day until I respond! If I don't get back to you right away, lurk on the computer and when you see I'm online IM me incessantly until I do!"

That's because she won't let them out. You do remember that Monty Python skit, no?

The Daleks, pah! It was the Cybermen that did it for me. they used to hide in my wardrobe when I was a chid, Mr Clayfield our maths teacher was a cyberman, along with one of the dinner ladies. I have all the missing episodes under my bed, hahahahahahaha!!!!

& yes MasterC I certainly do. Do you think Athena does keep them locked up? I'd like to think she does [:)].

LadyPact -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/24/2013 2:29:00 PM)

People who related the same story over the years, forgetting how many times they have already told it. Seriously. How many damn times does somebody have to tell the story before it sinks in that the other person has heard it before? Especially if the person feels compelled to tell it every time a certain drink is made and it reminds them of the time........ And it's always the same f*cking story!

Sorry. My own personal rant there.
