First off, how would anyone know? I'm fairly confident of the gender of most posters, the guys pretending to be girls (not the TS or TV girls but the wanker types) are pretty obvious. But ethnicity? Unless they post a pic or include some hint in their screen name I have no idea.

There are more people of color posting than you know. There are more queers than you know. For some people, one of the joys of a site like this is the ability to be seen as a person of the human race, in the human community. Am I a particular race? yes although I am ROUTINELY mistaken for a different race. Do you know my sexual orientation? Maybe. You could be wrong. I have been wrong a time or two.

And here is the other thing. Essentially, you asked. Hey...why don't those people do X? and the obvious answer is, "Ask THEM."

Well, why the lack of MAPS, for that matter? (note pic) When trying to find someone to form a D/s relationship with, LOCATION is far more important than SKIN COLOR, in My opinion.

Gays and Bi's, there are several on My friends list alone. I am contacted by a lot of them.

If you are looking on CM for people of certain racial backgrounds, I do talk to a lot of people of all different races, so they do all seem to be represented, at least from what I've seen. I certainly don't think BDSM or D/s has anything to do with race, or even culture. It's within the person themselves.

Hi I am a black woman. I will post on something that also catches my eye. I tend to enjoy reading far more than posting...and sometimes certain things are better left unsaid. We are here.

Looking at the reality of something is hardly racist. People of color do make less money, women do make less money. The whole point of equal opportunity employment rests on the reality of discrimination against groups of people, ergo they don't have jobs. Didn't sound racist to me...sounded like a fact.

I once was very involved in the National Organization for Women. The same question came up... why the disproportionate numbers between white women and women of color? The answers we got when we asked around was that after working two jobs and taking care of their families, the women of color chose to put what was left of their energy elsewhere.

I've worked with poor people quite a lot, and the reality of a racist and sexist culture is that it affects great swaths of people. I am neither young nor dumb. Ignorant? Perhaps. I'd be happy to be enlightened with statistics.
