I was one of those in the "2 years" group, but I have to say I think the timing was more than appropriate. I had to have time to grow into my submission. I was always compliant, but it took real time for my heart to KNOW that I was the slave he knew I could be. The timing is not not the major consideration, ( a collar on the first meeting would certainly raise an eyebrow for me, but it's not my relationship, so who am I to judge?), but what is of concern is the current state of the relationship. I had walls that I was unable to let go of for the longest time. They were my fallback...my safeguard just in case he decided to leave me. When I finally let go, there was a real shift in our relationship. I was no longer operating out of fear, but out of a genuine place of love and service no matter what might happen down the road. At that moment, I was ready for the collar. I am happy he saw something in me that made him wait until I came around! Congratulations on your happy event!

Congratulations!

I can't tell for sure as I've never been collared but I would have thought with the right person five months isn't necessarily too fast. I can imagine I'd feel that way -I was hoping for a collar from my ex Dom and thought about it that way too. Not something to take lightly, and if it feels right to both of you that's what matters!

I was collared after 6 months and yes, as you said, the commitment felt deeper than ever. And, the great thing is, it just keeps growing from here. The best of everything to you both.

congratulations. yes, i know the feeling of excitement and joy you must be experiencing. as for your comment about 5 months being quick...only you and your Master can know that. screw everyone else. i was with my Mistress just 2 months before she collared me. there were those who said it was too quick. there was even one in our community who was quite rude and outspoken to us saying, "i give it 6 months tops". well, this past April was the 5 year anniversary of that collar. that'll show him, huh?

All the best to you and Matt. I have been collared for 64 days (hee, hee... saw it in the other post above and had to count mine). It was like magic to me then, and I still get warm fuzzies remembering it.

i'm a little bit behind with my reading of the forums, and wish you and your Master a wonderful journey.

There are many who have found, and others who search, and when the time, is right, I believe you know your heart. I believe that you and your Master both knew that it was your time, and the days will unfold, your journey into your service will unfold, and the gifts of the union, will be displayed.
