ORIGINAL: justanotherguy00 Well after no one responded for a while originally when I posted this I freaked out a little bit and gave them the $ they asked for which was 500. :\ You are joking right? This thread has been a joke? People seriously believe this crap? I now have definitive proof that the intelligence of the human species is not increasing but decreasing. The Terminal Stupidity gene has become dominate. Sadly yes people really fall for this. My friends father committed suicide last month. He got an email that claimed they were the police and they had evidence he had committed crimes and unless he paid them they were coming to arrest him. He told his girlfriend that he ruined their lives and he was so sorry, then smashed the computer and hung himself. It was all a scam and her father fell for it. to have a guilty conscience don't you have to have done something wrong to warrant it in the first place? I've had that scam too. for a start common sense tells you that police don't send you a warning so you can get rid of evidence. they smash the door down, arrest you, take your stuff for examination and ask questions. i'm sorry your friend lost her father, but that was a very drastic reaction for a person to take if they hadn't done anything wrong. needles I know right! Sad thing is the police say he was not under investigation for anything. She has no answers other then the small note he left. She said her father has always had a fear of the government like that. Personally I wonder if he had some mental health issues going on before this that he just hid very well. Sorry, I'm with needles. A guilty conscious tells me that your friend's father probably had done something that he didn't think anyone else knew about.
