As the 2012 election approached every poll and other reliable measure of the likely winner showed Obama commandingly in the lead except one. The Intrade market's presidential outcome line showed trades believed it was a close race. This single outlier was touted by many news organizations as the election drew to a close. Now a study shows the market was manipulated by a single trader willing to lose millions of dollars to do so.

This is a surprise?

Intrade, lightly covered and susceptible to such manipulation is oft used as a bellwhether for elections. 4 million dollars to manipulate that result is chump change.

So some conservative or group of conservatives tried to manipulate a 'source of information' in order to skew things in favor of the GOP. Not sure why that would be a news worthy item given that conservatives do this on a regular basis....
