Obama's plan is for CONTROL thru healthcare. (How many pages was Obama's bill?) Libs have a fantasy that only they are "smart" enough to run things. Tell us how much and what to eat, ect, ect, ect. etc.

I'm afraid you are going to have to explain how this insidious plot to "control" Americans (apparently by ensuring that all Americans have access to healthcare) works. To the best of my knowledge, the ACA doesn't contain any provisions determining " how much and what to eat, ect, ect, ect. etc.". So I can't quite follow your reasoning in this instance.

I would have thought that ensuring that all Americans have access to healthcare would result in healthier Americans. Sadly it will be unable to do anything to help those stupid paranoid Americans who still manage to see Reds under every bed.

This whole thing is just the process by which we transition to anarcho-capitalism. Enjoy the ride.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: Ending the shutdown? (10/4/2013 10:43:57 PM)

like the railroad barons of the late 1800's who later owned the banks and railroads?

SerWhiteTiger -> RE: Ending the shutdown? (10/4/2013 10:47:38 PM)

Even someone raised by wolves wouldn't think that.

There is something about this shut down and Obamacare that I really think needs to be considered. The GOP nominated Mitt Romney for President of the United States in the 2012 election. Romney as Governor of Massachusetts signed in to law his own version of the Affordable Health Act, which is very much like the Federal one. Yet no one from the GOP or the Tea Party raised that issue during the election. I would if the GOP would shut down the government if Romney was elected and enacted the Affordable Health Act?

Its all speculation... The different groups upset by a mandate now wouldnt have approved even if Romney had won, but of course its a moot point. He didnt win... there wasnt enough if a difference between the two.

I think some republicans and independents showed that by either staying home or writing in.

No, but someone raised by Hanuman might.

The tigers were not the the favourites of the Blue Lord, Ser.

The Mischevious Varuna were the ones who saved Lanka and retrieved Sita, oh rakshasa-faced Ser.

Food for thought. *weg*

The shit now claims he needs to "Clariify"

Well, Polite, as soon as my President realizes he needs to "clarify" about his refusal to engage with other Americans who don't think his vision is divine and perfect, we can get things back up to speed.

Ah yes blame President Obama and not the Congressman. That should do it.

I am pretty sure I know what you would say if Democrats were pulling this stunt and Republicans are in power.

Lucylastic -> RE: Ending the shutdown? (10/5/2013 4:01:54 AM)

Funny but the hot mic moment with reid and paul, kinda proves that the prez is in fact meeting/engaging with elected people from the "other side".

.
The numbers do not support that belief.

The number of eligible voters actually voting in Presidential elections has hovered around the 60% for the last 3 Presidential elections which is a very significant increase since 2000 and before. The Republicans are losing elections because the nation's demographics have changed and the GOP has greatly narrowed its base.

Thanks for the link Ron, I just saw that on Crossfire (S E Cupp vould get my vote, Republican or not) CNN had another disturbing clip of a Republican, (I think he was a Senator?) berating a Park Ranger for doing her job.

The shit now claims he needs to "Clariify"

Congressman. Some teabag piece of shit.

And Polite will understand the poignant aspect, of course Polite after all, it is the lower house.

Here in the states we have Irish mafia and Italian mafia, and the same situation is in play, the Irish don't actually let the Italians run things, they're stupid; they talk into microphones, same situation with the teabaggers.

Something like 7 million white evangelicals stayed home in the last presidential election.

Boy, I sure wish I'd been able to collect back pay for all those times I've been laid off over the years.
