If you were the only one standing between a whole load of marauding aliens & your favourite pub...what would be your handheld weapon of choice? I'll start off with a chair leg & a broken bottle [:)].

Hmmm...I guess it depends on whether the aliens are from a different country (and if so, which country) or if they are from a different planet. Ah hell... Never mind. I don't drink so I don't have a favorite pub anyway...let 'em maraud.

The logical weapon would have to be the one I carry with me everywhere-my cane. (I won't mention the other nifty toys I have on my person at any given time). While I am not a certified Master in the form, I have been doing some bartitsu for the past couple of years. The canes I carry are not the playtime versions-they're either dense hardwood or my current favorite, carbon-fiber. Not as heavy, but I can get the end moving really fast, and handle is super-sturdy.

I'm gonna assume either Canadians or extraterrestrials (although the difference is minor), since I'm about 20 minutes from Canuckistan where I stand. Yankee and proud of it.

If the aliens were extraterrestrials, I'd use a phaser. If they were Canadians, I'd use a hockey stick. If they were Frenchmen, I'd toss 'em a box full of white flags and point a rifle at 'em. If they were British, I'd tell 'em to queue up to make an appointment; then I'd leave. If they were Germans, I'd remind 'em that the police forbid them from invading this country without declaring war first and remind them what happened the last time they did that. If they were from India, I'd give 'em directions to Silicon Valley. If they were Australians, I'd buy 'em a case of Fosters and leave.

Mine is hollow with a sword inside. Legal in Alabama, don't know about where you live.

I was thinking the same thing. Only I'd go with a modern pistol rather than a Winchester Model 94. a) The 94 far fewer rounds. b) The pistol allows for you to hold a pint of Guinness in your off hand.

technically speaking a hand-held weapon of choice could be a KEG filled with Oxytosin (look it up on something other than wiki-wank if it's unfamiliar to you) And SPRAYED UPON the aliens, so they then LOVED us. fight over.
