Big money republicans....

"Tension is brewing in the Republican Party as the federal government shutdown enters its seventh day and far-right members of the GOP show no sign of letting up.

The shutdown -- which has already affected hundreds of thousands of federal employees and hit critical government programs -- is bringing the Republican Party to a boiling point, angering GOP fundraisers and throwing a wrench in the works for the upcoming 2014 elections.

“People are totally annoyed,” one GOP fundraiser told the Washington Post.

Backers of American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS -- two influential Republican fundraising groups -- attended a conference in Washington D.C. over the weekend. According to the Post, many attendees had similar concerns: they wanted to see the end of Obamacare just as much as the next conservative, but not at the cost of a government shutdown.

“It appears that we’ve got a bunch of crazies running around — one from Texas and some from other places,” Al Hoffman Jr., former finance chairman for the Republican National Committee, told the Post. “I love the idea of defunding Obamacare. However, I don’t think it’s going to happen until we have a majority in the Senate and in the House.”

The fanatical tea-baggers who`re holding us hostage show no sign of letting us go any time soon and don`t seem to care about how it`s making them look or their party either.

But the real folks in charge of the geopee....the republican fundraisers...are not happy with them.

Wall Sreet is not happy with the teajadists.

Moderate rank and file republicans are not happy about the shutdown as well and in spite of far-rightist`s dilutions, moderate rank and file republicans blame the geopee, not the President for the shut down.

The DNC is Nearly Broke

RNC raises $5.9M; DNC has $18.5M in debt

I guess we'll see.

If the OP was about the money race, then your off topic post would be relevant.

The topic, to get you up to speed....is "what will end the shut down".

Plus anyone with any amount of sophistication knows that most of the money spent during elections, goes to PACs, unconnected with the national party apparatuses. Both mittens and the President spent a half trillion each.

I`ll throw you a bone cuz I like you.....Most of the cons at that meeting were the folks who run the PACs.

It`s 2013 ........not 1960.

Your post addresses the issue of Republican fundraisers getting antsy. The Tea Party didn't come into existence last night. None of this is a surprise to anyone. Yet the RNC's finances are just fine. Therefore, they are likely to stay that way.

“People are totally annoyed,” one GOP fundraiser told the Washington Post.

Then the solution is easy. The major GOP donors are on file. Send them letters, saying that their party has abandoned sound governing principles, and inviting them to become Democratic donors. Express willingness to have a discussion on what they like and don't like about the Democratic platform.

Threatening to hit the GOP in the pocketbook will rattle them a lot.

And, frankly, if the donors are unwilling to jump ship or at least shut down the money flow, it doesn't matter how annoyed they are.

The finances on the right may be ok but if the amount of emails I have been getting from the left begging for money is any indication, they are not doing so well.

The left for the most part relies on many/multiple smaller donations.

Where most of the donations to republicans come in fewer but larger amounts.

And they donate online. They donate at private, invitation only 50 thousand dollar a plate dinner parties.

Oh please... Republicans aren't the only party to hold exclusive, high ticket-priced, fund-raising dinners.

The president will first address a group of 100 guests, each paying $5,000 a plate. He then will meet privately with two small roundtables of deep-pocket supporters – one group paying $40,000 per person; the other $50,000 per person, a campaign official said. (The $50k ticket price is the largest for any Obama fundraiser held since the start of the campaign.)

And Democrats aren't the only party to pull in a large number of smaller donations.

In these early months of the 2014 election cycle, the RNC's advantage is not coming from greater success in attracting big contributions, but rather from a strong small-donor program and the transfer of leftover funds that had been raised for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

I'm sure that conservative groups are sending those same e-mails to people on their mailing lists. "Help stop Obamacare! Donate $100 to my campaign today!". I get at least one e-mail a week from just about every group I've ever given money to, from the DNC to CARE to Planned Parenthood, talking about some crisis that means they need my money right away.

Of course they are. They have their mailing lists like everyone.

The member making the email comment prolly donated to a liberal site and has her email in the system.Or her address was sold/bought/shared.

Has nothing to do with who needs money more.

The recent presidential candidates spent between them a half a trillion dollars each so the money race, give or take 20 Billion is even

My point that my party enjoys more individual donations as apposed to republicans, who receive fewer individual but larger donations, stands.

Which is how the President prefers it, saying he`d rather get a greater number smaller donations, even 5 or 10 dollar donations to get to money parity......because folks who donate money to a candidate tend to get out on election day to cast their vote for that candidate.

More individuals donations usually means more actual votes. And as we all know, votes are what win elections, not money.

I am also on quite a few right sites and no they don't constantly ask me for money.

Because they are well financed by a small number of large dollar donors.

The ones the PAC managers were referring to at the meeting.....hence my post....

this thread is currently a perfect example of why the shutdown hasn't ended, just a load of partisan bitching. US politics, fuck yeah!

what TPAM said.

and I love their userpic, I know it's nOT ectoplasm, but it LOOKS like "Attack of the Horror of the Curse of The Ectomplasm From the Ghosts of Venus!" It's a total 1958 horror movie still-shot.

Why, Owner... I didn't know you were a Republican!

You obviously didn't read the link I provided, either.

From January through March, the two party committees had similar success with donors giving over $200, both raising about $5.5 million. But the Republicans' small-donor efforts brought in $10.5 million compared to $8 million for the Democrats.

Well if by same page you mean I saw how you agreed with grace that the right is sending out just as many emails and then one post later come up with a reason that they are not sending them out. Then ya, I guess we are on the same page

Considering that we are dealing with two groups of petulant stubborn two year olds in adult bodies, I would say an invasion of aliens, the impending impact of an asteroid on Washington DC, or maybe locking the all the exits to the capital so they cant get out and in the process removing the toilet paper and dosing the water supply with laxatives.
