I have dated men who were a beautiful chocolate brown, a lovely latte colour, olive skinned and pale and freckly.

All were wonderful men with their own strengths and weaknesses. It never occurred to me to choose them based on their skin colour.

In an effort to be shed some light on Race Play, I searched for a recent thread where a black femsub stated that she wanted "real racists" to humiliate her, call her the n-word and so forth. (Can't locate it, search didn't bring up results.) Accordingly, as much as I wanted to warn her for making such a foolish announcement, I refrained so as not to appear to be criticizing someone else's kink. You are a Top, and unless you are in a trusted relationship with the bottom with whom you are engaging in this sort of play (and even then, you never know), ^Delilya's experience does raise the following points for careful consideration:

-- You set off some psychological trigger, perhaps even inadvertently
-- Bottom starts freaking out
-- Things go South
-- You get accused of a hate crime, or
-- Bottom claims she acted in self-defense
-- Something even worse happens
-- Who do you think the jury will believe?
-- Is it worth it to go to prison and ruin your life over this?

Not really, but to each his own. However, I did take a look at your profile, and it appears that you are interested in only one thing; being with a Black woman.

You indicate in your profile that you are a Dom who is looking for an "ebony sub". However, you then go on to say that you will also be a sub for a beautiful ebony lady. In other words, you will be either a sub or a Dom, so long as the woman involved is black. You list no other attributes that are important to you. You have no apparent activities that you enjoy. No vanilla interests that you might want to share. No other qualities that you are looking for in a partner. The only thing that matters to you is her race. Blackness is what you seek.

I happen to be African-American, and when people approach me only for my race, rather than my other personal characteristics, it really turns me off. By doing so, you reduce the person to a racial caricature (since none of their other qualities seem to matter to you).

Don't get me wrong. I know lots of people who are into race play. And there's nothing wrong with that. But there should be other things that interest you about the person than simply their race (IMHO).

Of course, you may find a Black female partner who is only interested in being with someone who is White (with no other characteristics that matter). If so, the two of you should live happily ever after in race play bliss.

Status: offline 		This type of play doesn't hold any interest for me, but if others feel it can be done as "play" and without real underlying racism then play away.

BUT, I have some real reservations about whether one can truly engage in such type of play without harboring negative attitudes about either one own's racial group, or another group. I don't possibly see how one could stomach a true scene in this type of play if one was NOT racist.

I remember meeting someone for coffee a long time ago, a German, who used to engage in Nazi play with a Jewish woman. I don't know about anyone else here, but I found that disturbing, and I felt that what each was exploring and experiencing as part of that play was not cathartic, but feeding into negative mindsets that each had.

There may be others here who have greater insight into this topic. I can only say that while I have dated across the racial, ethnic and religious spectrum, I am only interested in people who I find to be INTERESTING people, independent of their race, ethnicity or religious background. I am not interested in my background being a fetish in and of itself, just as I am not interested in treating others people's background as a fetish. Thus, "race play" as a category has never held any interest. Again, others may have more to say.

Hold on, hold on. Mooseman, can you please define what you mean by Race Play? Are you talking about having a play partner of a different race than your own, or interjecting a racial overtone into your play with a partner based on her race? My understanding of Race Play is an overemphasis on racial stereotyping - inclusive or exclusive of exaggerated behavior, mannerisms, name-calling, other acts of humiliation and/or degradation - in other words, racial role-playing. More in tangent with what fucktoyprincess was describing with the German Nazi/Jewish girl scenario in her earlier Post #16.

Not the above. If this is about having a fetish toward other races or one in particular, then that is a racial fetish, not Race Play per se. Which is it? Or do you mean both?
