Because people are usually determined to live their lives no matter what. Consider that statistics will probably tell you that you're more likely to be maimed or killed driving to work. But a typical road accident doesn't make for an attention-grabbing headline.

Emigrating won't help here. Maybe it's time to quit work, board up the house and keep that .45 on you at all times...? But American gun death stats will tell you that the enemy is often within, anyway. Mate, I think you're toast no matter what...!

Or you could get on with just living your life, regardless?

The only reason to get up at 5:00 AM is if you are going to get pissed off enough to shoot some food. When I do get up that early I shoot some food and then go right back to bed.

No it all entered my brain because I am getting up at 5Am and the only thing worth watching are "educational" channels. The other 123 channels have infomercials dealing with abs, hair style, hair growth, knives, something called WEN, or some televangelist preaching his version of the gospel to get poor people to dumb to read the bible and form their own opinion to send him or her money.

While Kera is eager to begin her walk as soon as the light goes on and I stumble to find the alarm clock, I need at least two cups of coffee before I dare venture out onto the country roads.

The other dogs seem to share my personality, stumble out of bed, go outside to take care of business, come back in the house grumbling about the godfuckingdamn early hour of the day and crash on the couch or dog beds until it is breakfast time.

I have come to believe that in a past life, kera was one of those Perky (ugh) women who loved mornings and greeted everyone with a smile and a cheerfully perky good morning.

You know the type, the girl you want to grab around her throat and shake her till both eyes are in one socket while repeatedly asking "What the fucking hell is so goddamn good about fucking mornings you twit?"
