oh boy!
this thread is going to get hot enough to fry bacon.

I love how she puts a smiley face at the end as if that made it any less offensive that she suggested people who have weight issues should be put in jail.

It's kind of like saying "No Offense". As long as you do that, or stick a smiley in there, you can be as obnoxious as you want. Didn't you know that?

LOL I always love when people say 'no offense but...' then you know whatever is going to come out of their mouth is going to be as rude as can be, but they seem to think thats ok because they 'meant no offense' not meaning it doesn't mean it isn't still offensive.

There is no way I would make that pie. Because ten minutes later my teen would have ripped off the top crust and made off with it.

If we all keep posting to this thread, does that mean no new fat threads may be created?

How to make bacon even BETTER? Candy it! Worked for yams, citrus peel, ginger.

Why do people get so overweight? 1. It is unattractive. 2. It makes you seem ill disciplined. 3. It is unhealthy. 4. It makes life practically difficult. 5. It is bad for hormones, energy and happiness. 6. Fat people earn less and can get into far less jobs. However, people still continue to eat, eat, eat. So I was wondering what the opinion on this is, in this online bdsm community is? Is it an obsession with physical pleasure like a drug addiction? If so should they be treated like drug addicts and put in prison :).

1. It's unattractive to some and not to others. There is a whole subset of people who adore the BBWs/BHMs of the world. Keep in mind that mean-spirited judgmentalism and closed-mindedness is also unattractive.

2. Being fat is not always a matter of being ill disciplined. Being mean-spirited, judgmental and closed-minded almost always is, so what's your excuse, OP?

3. Yes, fat can be unhealthy, being mean-spirited, etc, is also unhealthy. You're 32 and you should know that by now.

4. Your attitude makes life difficult for a lot of other people, so are you going to change it? I doubt that very much.

5. Sometimes hormones are what causes overweight. Yes, it can be bad for energy but there are also underweight and average weight individuals out there that have the energy of slugs. There are also a good chunk of genuinely happy overweight people out there.

6. Fat people earn less and it's harder for them to get jobs not necessarily because of being fat but because of people like the OP who are mean-spirited, judgmental and closed-minded. They can be just as qualified or more than "healthy weight" individuals for a particular job but people like the OP make it difficult for them.

Putting fat people in rehab or prison will not be a cure-all as there are many different reasons for people being overweight. I for one, have my genetics stacked against me and some health issues contributing to my difficulty with losing weight. I've only been able to get down to a certain weight no matter how many diet & exercise regimes I've been on, and I've been on a lot of them over the last 40 years. I had gastric bypass surgery three and a half weeks ago and I've already lost 31 lbs and 5" off my butt. That's how desperate I was to lose my excess weight and all the complications that go with it. OP, how about thinking up an original idea for a thread instead of one that's as old as the hills?

so, by current standards, is the spanktastic buggerable bubblebooty in Lucylastic's userpic "fat" or "overweight"?

hey, here's a joke for Harry Potter fans:\
\

how do you describe a slightly chubby ghost from Britain?

"over-wight".

My Dad came back from a trip with a pot of 'Bacon Jam' for us. It's amazing. Particularly good when you spread it on toast and then melt sharp cheddar cheese over it. Mmmm... now I mention it, I think that's going to have to be lunch today.

Two things, AthenaSurrenders:

1) Jammy dodgers are not optimal for dunking, I'm afraid - too crumbly.

2) http://www.notquitenigella.com/2009/10/08/bacon-jam-your-wildest-dreams-come-true/

This is better than the pre-made stuff, I swear down.

Thank you for the recipe. Now that I have tried a version of it, I would definitely make my own. I had heard of it before, but wouldn't have attempted a recipe without trying it because if we hated it, that would have been a lot of food wasted.

Re the Jammy Dodgers: I'd prefer a chocolate hobnob, but they are crumbly too. Really for dunking, the humble ginger nut is king since they are so hard on their own but practically dissolve in hot tea. But I still wouldn't say no to a Jammy Dodger. I just love the sticky bit in the middle. (Is it me, or do biscuits sound kind of obscene?)

All biscuits sound dodgy! Custard cream, anyone?

For me, you can't beat a good rich tea for dunking. And I'm sorry, really I am, but I just can't get behind the use of jammy dodgers for dunking. Jam does not belong in tea, and they're TOO SOFT. Perversion, I say! Perversion! :p

Gosh, rich tea, I didn't realize I was dealing with such a purist

Can we at least agree on Cadbury's Fingers? Or is chocolate controversial also?

I'm a biscuit fundamentalist through and through! But seriously, they were designed with dunkage in mind - they're optimal!

Chocolate fingers are fine, although I'd still probably rather eat them unmelted than dunk them, personally.
