Gary - you keep mentioning these Jammy Dodgers, and you've yet to bring me any. I'm beginning to think you are a tease. I have this cup of tea here, and nothing to dunk.

Oh Athena, I'm so sorry, but, the price of Jammy Dodgers has gone up, & there's less of them in a packet, not enough to share I'm afraid . I can get hold of some Bueno white chocolate Wagon Wheels if you fancy those ?

Hi Athena,

Blimey, that was a quick reply !

Jammy Dodger - The biscuit of choice, dunking one is a sin!
Rich Tea - Boredom in a packet.
Custard Cream - A trusty old favourite, makes more comebacks than Fairport Convention.
Hobnob - Has to be the original classic.

A bacon butty, has to be the perfect hangover cure, the aroma of which brings me back from the dead!

Ailey, you must be a FAKE, everybody loves beer... & bacon ! Bacon beer, never have a hangover again, excellent!

A terrific idea Hillwilliam! Get to it mate !!

FR~

Jammy Dodgers used to be good.
These days, they are smaller, the biscuit isn't as nice, and the Jammy bit in the middle is just like eating sweet red plastic - it isn't jam any more.

The same goes for Wagon Wheels.
It's only half it's original size and the filling is just sweet, tasteless foam plastic whereas the old one had a decent marshmallow filling.
Even the chocolate isn't the same.

I tried a bog-standard KitKat when I was in the US - thought I couldn't go wrong with something classic.
Oh yuk!! The chocolate was awful and the wafer was tasteless.
I don't know how they could make a US version of a classic and completely ruin it.

And apart from the original Milky Bar, just about all other white chocolate these is just super-sweet and tasteless.

One thing white chocolate is great for is coating raisins: I'd much rather have a snowball than a milk chocolate coated raisin...

Can't stand raisins so that suites me just fine!

Jammy dodgers must be similar to thumbprint cookies except the dodgers are a sandwich.... I make shortbread with raspberry centers that my boys love

as with all things you have to have quality when you have white chocolate. the pap that you get in most stuff is nasty, but spent a bit more money and it's good stuff. especially if it has real vanilla bean in it. I use it for cakes. as for raisins; if they are not in mince pies or Christmas cake then they have no business being around.

wagon wheels are naff.
jammy dodgers are now soft instead of crispy.
nestle have changed their chocolate so that it tastes even more cheap than it ever did. for some reason it always tastes old to me too.

digestives for dunking people.
digestives with dark chocolate
dark chocolate all the way. strawberries dipped in dark chocolate is heaven.

I'll agree with that for the most part.

Compared to the UK and probably most of Europe, most of the bacon I came across in the US was cheap and shitty and quite fatty and tasteless too.
Nothing like the quality we have available on this side of the pond and definitely didn't have the same excellent taste.
Pretty much most of the US bacon was no better than our "streaky" even when you paid top-dollar for a so-called "good" bacon.
And for those that don't know, our "streaky" bacon is the cheapest, fattiest and worst cut of bacon you can buy.

Ditto. But I like us all doing our part to keep this fat thread alive and thus prevent any new ones posting. So up with bacon!

Americans can't appreciate either of these products. It is funny how tastes are different in different parts of the world, it is all hinged on what you are raised on.
