I went to the Federal Building to file some immigration papers. I had to wait 30 minutes for the clerk of the Immigration Court to open up her window to accept them. The service copies for the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY could not be delivered b/c that department is closed.

Overall the building was empty except for the Janitors and select few, non furloughed workers. Everyone not working is also going to get paid. The Immigration docket is now being pushed back further despite being over-jammed. At least ICE will have to slow down its deportation mechanism.

I have lost about $1,400 in business as one business client of mine cannot hire the IT worker it needs from Asia.

Starbucks is taking signatures asking the House to send everyone back to work.

People on the street think this is insane. I have also actually overheard several angry conversations about the insanity of shutting down the government while promising to pay its employees.

Personally, I have not been this pissed off and disgusted since the IRAQ war years.

We took a nice drive up into the Southern Sierra Nevada yesterday. We were camping in a private area and our reservation was unaffected. As we drove up the Kern, the gates were closed along all the campground areas, and a lot of people were simply camping off the side of the road, or in the day use picnic areas. The parking lots were open at those, but all the toilet facilities were padlocked. Fortunately, someone had already ripped the padlock off of one, and saved me the trouble, when the wife was nearing a crisis point.

Normally, it's $5 to park at The Trail of 100 Giants, but the payment envelopes hadn't been stocked, so I assumed it was free. No rangers to be seen, but there were plenty of people who paid as much attention to the closed notice as we did.

Flew to california.

Obamacare was openly discussed among 6-8 people. In this crowd that flies, every single person wanted obamacare shutdown. Didn't care if the government was shutdown as a result. No one spoke in favor of 0care.

Was very heartening.

And those are just the ones he listens to. What did the other 200+ people on the plane say? We'll probably never know, since he tuned them out.

I live in an area where the biggest employer is the neighboring Marine base
The only other local cash flow we have is the national park on the other side of the valley
normally it would be peak tourist season
This shut down sucks...sucks big fat dirty hairy balls
The only problem I personally have with obamacare is that it doesn't have a public option
Without a public option,it's just a mandate that we should all get fucked by the insurance companies equally.
While it does address some of the issues that people had with the insurance companies,I just see it as some lube.
but hey,it's a start

EVERY OTHER DEVELOPED NATION HAS NATIONAL HEALTHCARE!!!!

America has fallen from grace over the last forty or so years,we can hardly blame the president, nor the last few presidents for massive outsourcing, ect.
our schools are failing, our people are sick and unemployed, and now even our government has become a uselessness beached whale...America number 1...more like number 180
it'd be nice if our representatives could work together to help improve our nation
but as long as over half of us are publicly schooled to be restarted, and the other half is indoctrinated to be self centered and ignorant ideologists,I highly doubt that we'll elect anyone worth while......

God damn I wanna move outta this country right now......or maybe start a new one
any one got an island for sale?

That's right. Just look at all these people who get to shitcan their health care. Funny that they don't seem to happy about it.

Since they were on a plane, they probably worked for a living so they weren't foaming at the mouth for FREE healthcare!
