I run a photo lab for Walgreens Drug Store here in Las Vegas. See and meet LOTS of interesting people. Plus it makes it easy to develop pictures I wouldnt want other people seeing.

I am strange. Until last year I was an Army Sergeant, all the time being a fully invested subbie. Now I am away from the armed forces I am getting that switchy feeling.

Its fascinating to read everyone's replies on this thread and learn a little more about people.

I am a psychologist and currently work as a rehabilitation consultant (my clients are people with injuries and disabilities who want to return to work). My colleagues call me the kick butt psych due to my personality and approach which can be confrontational and also very based in reality which is not always in line with my client's ... yes I can be a horrible person who rains on their parades/dreams. I also run career planning groups evert couple of weeks. Also lectured at a uni for a couple of years and worked as a youth support worker, volunteer work as a radio dj in a kids hospital and also did volunter work with people with AIDS related illnesses that wanted to die at home

At work I would say I am a typical type A personality, I am lucky as I love the work that I do. I am not sure if being a submissive correlates with my work simply because my work style whilst it can be nurturing and guiding has a lot of confronting and shifting my clients out of their comfort zones. grins... know I have done some good work when a client makes a complaint about me.

Im self employed, I teach courses on disability to businesses. Ive worked -for- other people in the past and it worked out fine. I think it depends on the person youre working for as to how well it goes-not everyone who has power knows what theyre talking about or has the right to be in charge of others.

I can do both but Im enjoying being My own boss because I can control everything andso Im much more confidant about what Im doing and what I want to achieve....perhaps a part of Me doesnt trust other people that much!.

Im a Dominant Male. I dont thing there is a correlation between what your job is and how you identify in BDSM terms-Ive met lots of submissive women who are the boss at work.

I am a newspaper reporter, a profession in which you must put yourself and your own opinions last and everyone else before you. A good reporter does not spend a lot of time talking about himself/herself while interviewing others or during any other job-related task. The focus is all on the subjects of your stories.

It's a very rigid (daily deadline crunch, etc.) and high-profile profession. Everybody comes to know you and like you (if you're not a hardcore investigative reporter). The public places you into a mold and everyone has high expectations for reporters they come to know and love. The part that is the toughest (particularly if you don't work for a large metro daily) is not being able to shed that reporter outfit and those expectations when you leave the office. You can't leave the job at the office because you represent that newspaper everywhere you go. You can't go to the grocery store without someone stopping you to talk about a story they read, another story idea or whatever. I am "the newspaper" to them, not my own person with desires and faults. You just can't escape it.

I've been a reporter for 10 years and I think it led to some major suppression of my own being. I got to a point where I wanted someone to listen to ME and make the focus all about ME. I needed and wanted to break all those "nice girl" molds that had been created. I needed to scream and rant and rave and feel some major power. And I felt that with my first Domme experience, which I initially approached as something different to do. IT felt so fuckin good to go against the grain of society's expectations of me and not feel so suppressed. I remember lashing my sub's cock and balls with a belt on that first meeting and thinking "it doesn't fucking get any better than this." It's also nice knowing that someone is conforming to MY deadlines and i can escape those confining daily newspaper deadlines.

I don't really know how to explain it, but I do think that my profession has played a big part in the need for me to Domme.

P.S. I know my screen name indicates that I am a sub, but really I am more Domme. I do seek to be sub at times so I can get a taste of what I put My own sub through. I can't really understand and be a better, stricter Domme until I've walked some in his shoes. I suppose that's also a part of my profession that I can't shake (having to research everything for a better understanding).

Retired Military Dominant

I was in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam got out, was on a Boston area Fire Dept for 3 years but they did away with the Veteran's Preferance laws and embraced "Affirmative Action" programs so I joined the U.S. Coast Guard as a Petty Officer.
Real interesting. A lot of rescues and mostly they turned into "recovery ops" pretty gruesome stuff, plane crashes, pulling bodies, medical aid to mariners, missing persons, boaters investigations and about 20 drug busts in the Carribean. Haitian Migrant Interdiction Ops. Mariel Boatlift Ops.
Worked with U.S. Customs a lot and also U.S. Secret Service providing security for then Vice President George H.W. Bush in Maine. We all had at least a "Secret" clearance.
For sure a "young man's job."
Lots of 100 hour weeks, being away for months at a time.
You had to be in good shape and deployable to anywhere in the world at a moment's notice.
Now I'm retired in Myrtle Beach,SC and do whatever I please!
Am available for travel to meet like minded people.

Well, I'm not doing anything right now. School is out for the summer and I'm only a few weeks away from delivering my first child. I'll be taking some time off to be with my baby, and I'll probably never go back to full-time, but usually during the school year I'm a substitute teacher for our county schools. I'm a switch, but I don't think there's any correlation between my work and my orientation.

Err Im in the ferrous and non-ferrous scrap industry, currently working on becoming part of the "high speed aluminum tubing industry" but thats long way off and very expensive, I am submissive.

Hi.

I'm a domme and my job is being assistant to the HeadMistress of AcademyForSlaves and a slave trainer but I've had other jobs in the past like secretarial work, personal assistant, and customer service.

The HeadMistress I work for has a cool work history. She wanted to be a child psychologist but instead started out with misc parttime jobs while modelling, then she became a magazine publisher, artist, fashion consultant, clothing designer, and then a Dominatrix, and now she's a HeadMistress and a tutor and a writer. She's a talented artist too.

I know she doesn't like working for any boss so I guess there's a connection there for your question but I don't mind working for a boss that's female.
