ORIGINAL: joether A Gentleman is one that helps others feel safe, comfortable and ok, regardless of the situation around them. Being about to say some good heart felt words during a funeral, to cracking a few jokes during a hurricane that forces the laughter for a few moments. They may be far from perfect individuals, but they try to make the best of a bad situation. The President was in one such situation and handle the situation with dignity. However you feel about the man, there is no knocking his effort to remain a gentleman even when many in the country tear each other apart over one issue or another. Most gentleman do not get mad very often; when they do, it is rarely out in the open for others to see. An when something happens that would bring embarrassment on to someone else, these individuals typically deflect the attention else where. Thereby protecting the individual from ridicule and insult. The President did something very noble and decent. Wait, the President was acting... Presidential?!? Whodathunkit?!? The worst part of all this is that actions such as these are newsworthy. They're only newsworthy if they aren't ordinary, common things. In this day and age, it sure seems like those actions are outside the norm. Glad the President stopped what he was doing to help. That is good. I wish it wasn't something worthy of being mentioned in the news, though (and that's not a comment on this President, but on society, in general).
