This is just a curiosity of mine, but how does it work vote there, you hale like to resgister before? how someone knows what polling station he has to go? What does people at the polling station ask you to know who in the list voted I mean if there are two john smith they also ask date of birth?

You have to register one time before you vote, and that's good forever. I registered when I was 18, which is pretty common. When you register, you have to prove your identity and that you're a citizen.

After that, before every election, the county election board mails you a voter registration card that shows your name and address and your polling place (usually a school). When you go there, the poll workers have a list of everyone that's assigned to vote there, you show them your card, and they mark your name off. That way you can't come back and vote again.

That's right, there isn't enough fraud to even worry about. Best to wait until someone on the left loses, then we can spend months recounting every slip.

You know that, in the election that I'm guessing sprang into your mind when you were prompted to say this, that if EVERY slip had been recounted in Florida, there would have been no Shrub...

Doncha?

Also, and more relevantly, requiring voters to show an ID would not have affected the situation in any way whatsoever. The problem was with the design of the ballots, not with who went to vote.

Which means they should just to lend credence to your opinion the GOP is waging a war against, what is it this time, oh yes, the voter who cannot get out of their house to obtain a valid ID, or something.

More like:
- The voter who cannot take off work during the hours the DMV/MVA is open
- The voter who lives in an area without public transit to the DMV/MVA
- The voter who does not have the money to pay the $30+ fee for a photo ID
- The voter who does not have a birth certificate and cannot afford to get a new one
- The voter who lives in a nursing home and cannot go to the DMV/MVA

When you're trying to support yourself making minimum wage, taking off a full day of work so you can take a 2-hour (each way) bus ride to the MVA and then stand in line for another two hours to spend $30 you can't afford in order to get a photo ID is extremely burdensome.

Even more importantly the illegal, the Florida state government admitted it was, purge of tens of thousands of legal voters overwhelmingly people of color. The simple fact is that if all those who are documented to have gone to the correct polling place but were turned away due to the illegal purge had been allowed to vote W loses Florida by several thousand votes and the nation would have been spared many terrible misdeeds by a man wholly unsuited to lead a baseball team much less this nation.

Nice try at trying to get me to play your time wasting internet games, after I've pointed out that I don't care for them.

If I've made a claim of fact that you know is a lie, post your proof.

Why do you keep making up ridiculous lies like this, and the one about passing a test before voting?
Putting them in the form of a question doesn't make them true.

You register to vote before hand in most states. The registration includes your mailing address so that distinguishes you from anyone else with your same name. Different states have different requirements for identification at the polls. Here in Chicago I just present myself, sign the book and sometimes present my voter ID card.

so there is no pubblic record of addresses I guess, you trust a lot, with your system here there would be probably a 120% vote affluence, we have an ID card issued at 15 years by the mayor of your city and a voter ID that you recieve at home when you turn 18, you get a stamp for every time you go to vote, when there is no more room you ask a new one at the city hall, I don't know if you get some gadget for finishing the collection... I don't know like a home movie of a party at silvio berlusconi's mansion.

Stop making silly assumptions, Eurlero is in italy, he IS asking questions.....

considering you made your post on page one.... I doubt this very much....
If you keep attacking, you are gonna be in for a bumpy ride...now what are your thoughts on the GOP chappy who got canned for airing his racist views on camera?

See, that is what we call in America, 'bald faced lies'.

I've given you factually correct and verifiable information more than once, so have others.
Your response has been to pretend that the given facts don't exist, and to make up wildly irrational claims as accusations in the form of a question. It is the old 'So, that means you haven't yet stopped molesting children, right?' debate trickery.

The first time might have been an honest mistake, but as a regular pattern, there is nothing honest about feigning ignorance when the facts are right in front of you.

You register beforehand. The voter rolls are assigned to precincts based on address. When I arrive at my polling station, I give my name and that name is correlated to the rolls for that station, and is then crossed off.

We know what station to go to due to a mailing informing us, and there are online resources as well.

Not sure about the two John Smith thing. I have a very unusual last name and have never had an issue with identical names.

Dude, your now being called out. Answer the lady's question. You came on this forum and posted several times. But all rights that is 'time wasted'. You could have been doing something more productive than tapping keys on the keyboard on some thread, of some website, somewhere on the internet. But 'NOOOOOOOO', you came here and got into an argument that your now....LOSING. So 'YES', you did lie with that post of yours.

So I'm going to call your 'B.S'. of a reply and demand you give the lady an actual answer. Here, I'll even repost it, so you do not have to go searching for the exact question:

I think the fraud can be prevented more by checking the electoral registries than checking the ID at the polling station, like if two persons with the same SSN registered in two different counties under different addresses, or someone with a fake SSN and different addresses, for what I understand one voter ID is one vote.

Checking a voter registration is when the SSN and name are checked against current records. If you move, there is a form to change that (to update so they know which polling place you are to go to). If a woman gets married and takes her husband's last name, there's a form to update that, too. The point of a voter ID requirement is to show proof that you are who you claim you are, and who they have on record.

My polling place asks for ID and I can't recall a time when I didn't have to present ID to vote (though it is possible that I didn't have to for my first Presidential election and I just don't remember). I go to my polling place. I head to the table where I'll find my last name (alphabetically oriented). I tell them my last name. They ask for ID and start looking for it in the voter rolls. When they find it, I sign the book, and get my ID back.

Polling stations are set by address. Had I not updated my address in time last year (I got a divorce and moved out of the voting district), I would have filled out a provisional ballot. Once my identity had been verified and checked that I didn't vote at my previous polling station, too, my provisional ballot was counted.
