I'm confused as to why? It would seem to have almost everything that certain folks seem to focus on. It's a shooting at a school. It's got 3 injured children. It was done with an evil AR-15 "assault rifle". It has a "poorly secured weapon", that was left loaded, that a child was allowed access to. (And however it was secured must not have been good enough if a child was able to fire it, right?) I would have expected to see this up within hours of the incident, yet it happened on Wednesday. I'd have expected to see folks calling for the person who's weapon this was to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Locked up and the key thrown away, fined into the poor-house, etc. So why hasn't a big deal been made about this? Let's see, maybe because it happened in California, a state with some of the strictest gun laws in the country? So calling for stricter laws is a bit hard to do here. Maybe because the gun was bought in California, not brought in from a state with looser laws? Again, hard to put a "we need more laws" to prevent straw-purchases spin here. Or maybe because the one who brought the weapon to the school was a police officer? A shooting that can't be blamed on poorly trained gun-nuts, why bother?
