The worst part of this story, perhaps, is that the girl is now subject to the death penalty...
For the Islapologists...
There is an evil, and an evil enormity, to Islam unmatched by anything in scope and rivaled in intensity by nothing modern save, perhaps, Pol Pot and Nazi Germany.

I don't have any love for Pakistan, but could you point me to a source for this assertion? I don't see it mentioned in the article at all, and I imagine that her being a candidate for the death penalty that would certainly be included.

It is, I thought, common knowledge that sharia punishes the victims of rape; said punishments can include public whippings, longterm imprisonment, and death by lovely means including stoning.
There are of course innumerable references on the web, but this one, from the International Quranic Center, is chockablock with goodies from the wonders of sharia, including a personal favorite:

"Proof of adultery or rape liable to Hadd shall be one of the following:
(a) The accused makes confession, or
(b) There are at least four Muslim adult male witnesses.”

Rapists actually are harshly (of course; calling sharia harsh is akin to calling water damp) punishable under sharia; said punishments are made moot, however, by the above.
The concomitant evil is that, unable to prove rape, the victim is now guilty of either fornication or adultery... both of which are harshly (lol) punished under sharia...

There are just and fair Muslims.

I think her treatment, however would be a roll of the dice. It would depend on this happening in a backwater, or if the rapists are related to the local authorities.

However Muslim women are not killed for rape itself. Perhaps some women are killed who's families believe in Honor Killing, but for the rape itself the only person to be killed is the rapist. Rape is a capital punishment and must be proven. And I quote, "There is no Islamic precedence for punishing the victim of sexual assault, even if the assault is not proven. The only exception is if a woman is found to have deliberately and falsely accused an innocent person. In such a case, she may be prosecuted for slander. Sadly, there have been cases where women have attempted to initiate a rape complaint, but ended up being prosecuted and punished for adultery. (Huda)"

Your article and link said she was arrested but did not say for what. Nor did it say she would receive the death penalty.

There may be, I suppose, Muslims who are fair and just in their day-to-day lives. I wouldn't know. I do not voluntarily associate with Muslims and do not know of any on, say, my job.

But that begs the question... can a KKK be more than superficially "fair and just" when they subscribe to such a monstrous evil as the KKK?
