Sometimes when i tie peps up they struggle. Would it be best to calm them, using one or more of my very effective methods, or would it be best to leave them to "stew" fr a while?

I don't know that it matters a whole lot what you do, provided their struggling doesn't end up tightening the ropes or moving them, so that the person is at risk of having circulation to an area of their body being cut off. If it's not an unsafe situation, and everybody's into it, just do what makes you and your partner happy.

If you are in the rope a dope game long enough........nah, no stories.....

OP;

Google up eel as it relates to bondage.  let them struggle, and insure you do something so they cant use their thumbs, like duct tape them in the palms.  They are getting off on it.

Ask them.
Some people need to struggle against the ropes to make sure they can't get out. Others prefer to relax into them.
If you are 'leaving' them to stew, I hope you are not leaving the room. You need to watch and make sure they're safe.

As far as your 'calming' techniques go, ask them which technique would calm them and which would get them more upset.
I'm fine being bound and not played with as long as he's there. But if I can't hear him or feel him touching me, then I panic.

We're all individuals. You can only know what's going on with someone by talking to them.

How do you tie them? I mean, do you understand about stress knots?, the problem with box ties? rope tension?
My concern would be injury. Someone who struggles against the ropes inevitably tightens those ropes and this can lead to permanent peripheral neuropathy, suffocation and even death.
There was a recent incident with a popular FL member where one woman died an the other was comatose when the Dom got carried away with the ropes.

I enjoy watching a struggle too but its good to know those ropes have been administered by someone who knows what they are doing.

Uh, she is a better than your average bear mountain climber and rope expert.  It happens more often than going to the toilet and sitting out floaters.

And this, new to BDSM folks, is the type of stuff you have to watch out for. And why more experienced folks will tell you to make sure you can trust someone WITH YOUR LIFE before ever letting them get their hands or gear on you.

If you are lucky, maybe you'll just suffer some nerve damage. At worst, possible amputation or even death. But hey, your tea cosy, toilet, and bed are all apparently conspiring to maim or kill you too .

So basically, you already know the answer to your question and have popped in to see if you can get another thread pulled.

Oh my God! Coffee in bed? Well, you know that hundreds of zero people are shot and killed by their toasters every year. Bastards treat the kitchen like it was Vietnam and they were the VC on the Ho Chi Minh trail

OP, I think perhaps you need to reread what I said. At no time was I referring to your experience (or not) or whether you were any good (or not). What I was referring to was your casual dismissal and disregard of the basics of rope safety as pointed out by MariaB. But we both know you knew that.

Would you deliberately cause an asthma attack in someone by closing off their airways?
Because deliberately causing a panic or anxiety attack in someone with an anxiety disorder is just as bad.

He doesn't like to break his toys. Apparently you do.

This. Subs test their bindings by "struggling". Never leave a submissive alone and bound. You can try and make them think you are gone as a part of play but if they know you, and they should if they let you bind them, then they will know you are there even in the prolonged silence.

Struggle happens in bondage, I might even say always, but with a Dom watching and checking her circulation and for dehydration and other vitals there is no issue. Dom's need to know what they are doing. If you like rope then you need to study under someone who is experienced and/or learn from some good books including what to do when a sub panics in her bindings.
