Unless they've stopped making the one that was burned, buy her the exact. Same. One. If they don't sell it anymore, take the burnt pan to your closest culinary/kitchen supply store and ask them what is the closest thing they have to it and buy that.

I know you're looking for opinions on what works best for folks but since it is all opinion, Mine is not to mess with a woman's cookware. She knows exactly why she preferred that one.

Holy freakin crap! LOL, I was going to offer up our positive experience with Allclad stuff but I'm afraid LP pretty much stole the show with that answer.

OK, now that I caught up (and remain stunned by ChatteParfait's grab on the actual make of "the victim" -- and have stopped laughing about RS's clarification about which victim) I realize that there's no way to directly replace.

So let me go back to the All-Clad line.. specifically as Des suggested the ones with the copper core. You'd have to go over to their site to see if they have the correct diameter & depth. That line is some pretty serious high-end chef stuff and the details show.

You can buy insulated pot handles.
Such as this:

Over a gas flame or nestled flat onto a samller electric coil, it has full contact with the heat. But on our glass top stove, 99% of the pan doesn't contact the cooktop like the flat bottom of her stainless steel pan does. I think this is why the pans don't work as well for her. She puts the food in too early because her internal timer is set to when the steel pan is ready and the iron takes longer to reach a good cooking temperature.

I have a glasstop too. Any setting other than high does take a long time to heat up, but I find this is true for stainless steel too. I don't heat on high because it takes too long to cool back down to the temp I want it. I allow lots of time for heating and prep while keeping at eye on the pan. If you want to sear, the pan is ready when it starts to smoke. (Only recommended for cast iron.)

I do like the way glass tops clean but one has so much more control with gas.

I have these cloth ones but would probably get silicone next time:

Are you sure that isn't a Wearever pan? It looks a lot like the wearever pro line and those are available at Walmart.

Personally, I detest the non stick coatings. No matter how much you treat them delicately the non stick isn't by three years. I'm using stainless pans that are 20 years old but all of the non stick I've been given has been relegated to trash long since.

Well I'll be damned, it's not a "Weaver" that I killed, it is a Wearever. I read it wrong . . . my bad for looking without my glasses. No wonder I couldn't find a a 5 quart cooker by Weaver. Thank you for catching that. Now that I have learned about these type of pans, I can go to the store and take a look at them with some knowledge to compare them. Awesome.

I personally don't use non-stick cookware either. I like to cook and have been using cast iron for ages.

Weaver made cast iron, so I too wondered if you were actually wanting to replace a Wearever.

T-Fal is similar.

The ceramic pans are nice, but they are almost as heavy as cast iron.

I only buy stainless steel pans, I go to the local restaurant supply store.

If you use Fetlife, there is a group called "Ask a Chef".  I always ask there before any big purchase.

I killed my slave's favorite frying pan (burnt it). It was a stainless steel Weaver with an extra thick bottom and Teflon coating. I have cast iron pans, but she isn't too fond of cooking in them. So I am looking to buy her a new pan.

I have no experience with all these newer non-stick resin coatings and green pans. Any suggestions for great non-stick pan?

Do you cook?

ResidentSadist -> RE: -=Best Frying Pan?=- (11/18/2013 1:49:23 AM)

^ I am an excellent cook but I am not a trained chef. I do not have the training or schooling to differentiate all the different styles of ethnic cuisines. I know just enough to cook up many of the dishes I like and do make some Mediterranean, Russian, Polish, Hungarian, American, Kosher and Halal (Indian, Arabic) style cuisine.

thishereboi -> RE: -=Best Frying Pan?=- (11/18/2013 7:24:04 AM)

I don't know much about the coatings but my mom always told me to make sure it had a "bisquet" on the bottom. That is supposed to spread the heat out over the bottom of the pan evenly. This also gives it a very thick bottom and I have noticed I don't have problems with warping like I do with other frying pans.

That is amazing! I don't think I could even find that many diverse RESTAURANTS....let alone cook that kind of stuff.

How does a thread about frying pans grow to 3 pages long on a kinky sex website?

I found a cast iron skillet in a ditch, and took it home because it was square and I like square kitchen stuff.

It's not bad.

You should get her a ditchpan.

A lot of hot, kinky sex can work up an appetite of a different sorts.
It does in my house, at least.
And a good pan means, possibly, a better and more satisfying meal.

NuevaVida -> RE: -=Best Frying Pan?=- (11/19/2013 7:39:48 PM)

What an awesome thread - I'm learning about some interesting pans and skillets!

I typically hate hate hate teflon but did buy a couple calphalon pans last year and oddly enough, I like them. I don't put them in the dishwasher but they are super easy to clean. And they are carefully placed in the cupboard - no stacking.

I much prefer stainless steel, and have found if I heat the pan first, THEN add oil, etc., the food does not stick and cleaning is easy.

njlauren -> RE: -=Best Frying Pan?=- (11/19/2013 7:57:45 PM)

One warning with non stick pans, be really careful with them in terms of overheating them. They can put out toxic fumes and especially if you have birds around, I would recommend not using them, people have had parrots and other exotic birds die from using non stick cookware. Even though we have a vent hood on our stove with an external blower that can such honey through a straw in January, we don't use non stick cookware at all, because we have birds. One thing I have found, with a good quality stainless steel or copper pan, cleanup is not that big a deal, and I also don't have the problem with using oil or whatever in a pan, as long as you are using the right kind of oil for the type of cooking you are doing, it is okay to use it, the anti fat crusade out there is so over the top it isn't funny.

I've found with any coated piece of cookware you should use a styrofoam or paper plate between them to prevent scratching.

Why not? Hell, mash this with some of the recipes on the site and we could come up with "The Kinky Cookbook" or something like that (unless it's already been done). Remember to have your naked subs wear an apron, though. Grease burns down there aren't as much fun as some people think they might be...

Yep, in the past I've used a dish towel.
