MalcolmNathaniel -> 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in just under 24 hours. (11/22/2013 11:12:47 AM)

After exhaustive research I have come up with these two recipes for a Sonic Screwdriver:

Non-Alcoholic:
1/4 cup (2 oz. or 60 ml)Orange Juice (no pulp)
2 drops Blue Food Coloring
1 cup (8 oz. or 240 ml) lemon lime soda (Sprite, 7-Up, etc.)

Alcoholic:
1/4 cup Blue Curacao
1/4 Cup Vodka
1/4 Cup Orange Juice
3/4 Cup Lemon Lime Soda

The important bit: I experimented with mixtures to find a color that would look "Futuristic and Spacey." Otherwise these are basically "Sprite with a splash of orange juice" or "Blue Kamikazi with orange juice and soda." Presentation is key here. I would suggest a clear punchbowl with a block of dry ice in it (not too much or you'll freeze the whole thing solid.) Use CLEAR glasses or cups to serve it in. Also, add a chip of dry ice to give each glass the 1960's 'super sciencey' feel to it.

Also being served tomorrow: Fish fingers and custard (duh,) Tin dogs (Hot dogs wrapped with the bun in tinfoil,) Macra Stew (crab bisque) and bow-tie pasta salad (I'm trying to decide between a pesto or something more exotic.)

Bloody Limeys being able to see The Doctor in 3d. Y'all make me sick!

Not where I live. The middle of fucking nowhere is hardly a place to find that showing. If Virginia had an ass end this place would be the dingleberry hanging off of it.

We recorded BOTH times on the DVR...Definitely getting my fix while I am trapped in Bo's place because of the weather.

MercTech -> RE: 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in just under 24 hours. (11/24/2013 12:05:53 PM)

Ok, now I'm getting very afraid.
Why?

All the recipes for "Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster" I saw in the 70s that included the fluid from chemical light sticks.

Then there is my recipe for a sonic screwdriver...

Make a regular screwdriver.
Drop in a waterproof remote control egg vibrator. (sterilized of course)
Turn the vibrator on when the victim starts to take a sip.

And yet, you always try to convince me to vacation there....

MalcolmNathaniel -> RE: 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in just under 24 hours. (11/24/2013 12:59:33 PM)

You convince yourself. I am merely the icing on the cake.

DOM68005 -> RE: 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in just under 24 hours. (11/24/2013 1:07:30 PM)

Save your money ... BBC TV has been showing all the Dr Who you can stand for the past week and still doing so.

ResidentSadist -> RE: 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in just under 24 hours. (11/25/2013 12:37:17 AM)

John Hurt was awesome and it sure was nice seeing Billie Piper again. I thought it was a righteous production.

DesFIP -> RE: 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in just under 24 hours. (11/25/2013 5:32:31 PM)

Yeah but Tom Baker, making that cameo as the museum curator should have worn his signature scarf.
