Hill, she has it going for her that they were found and dealt with quickly. litterly they were not there, then in late october they were and the biopsy was done almost until the end of nov and it came back quicker than the 14 days then in a week of finding out what it was, they were taken out. It's not super aggressive and we got it out super soon, and the vet said there's a good chance it's gone forever, but there's a small chance it's not. so keep an eye on her, keep an eye out for changes in eating, drinking, breathing abilities cuz at this stage they dunno if it has metastasized into her lungs. We were not that fortunate with our other dog, she had an aggressive form and when i first felt it, it was already a huge golf ball size, and i let someone talk me into not being concerned and rushing her right to the vet. so by time it was noticed, it had spread, and there was no point in operating. it was in her lymp nodes, and her throat and we opted to have her put on prednisone to hopefully slow the spread, and it didn't work. so from diagnosis to to sick to live, it was only 7 weeks, but she was really happy up until the last week of her life. quote:
ORIGINAL: Hillwilliam My old bloodhound had a couple of tumors removed and then when they came back a third time, the vet and I figured she was too old to survive the anesthesia so I'd just make her as comfy as possible for her remaining days as they popped up in multiple sites. 3+ years later, she finally passed at age 13 1/2 (bloodhounds are only supposed to make it 9-10) Calley may have a lot of years left in her just remember to hug her and watch for signs of suffering. Not all cancers move fast as poppy was proof of.
