DaddySatyr thinks Nelson Mandela was a black supremacist and a racist.
I don't know if I will get a goldy for saying that but it bears repeating for anyone who cares to read it, as I am astounded by some of the hate that this thread has generated, mainly from the right obviously.

What are you so afraid of?
Is it change?
Are you scared of anything that shakes up the status quo where old white guys rule the world and keep all the power and money?

Nelson Mandela was a force for good and he created a change that was probably felt in America.

It did occur to me that there is a chance that Mandela's life, maybe, just maybe helped Obama become your president, it that the problem?

This could be a description of Mexico too.
This is one thing that really disturbs me about my govt., when they get involved with third world countries.
I don't want to "help" those countries, I don't want to be "friends" with countries like that and, I don't want my govt. doing so either.
As for Mandela,...who cares about him unless you're a S. African or a self-loathing white diletante from Cambridge, Mass or Bezerkley, Calif? The kind who were wearing those flat topped "Castro hats" in 1959-60.
They "celebrate" the bad guy but they sure wouldn't want to sit down and drink with them and maybe the next day, go out and help the bad guy decapitate a few of the resistance.Whoa! They're Leftist but they're not THAT fuckin' Leftist!
And of course they are in favor of handing over U.S. Taxpayer Dollars to rat-bag countries like that because they're,..."poor."

Wisdom is just not one of your strong suits, is it? Nor reason, knowledge, compassion, patience, courage, or humility.

Joether, I express my opinion which must obviously differ from your's and you insult me instead of addess my point(s)
Not the first time.

Just because you have an opinion, it doesnt mean someone else cant view it as racist and/or bullshit. [8|]

... Wow Americans really are either really right or really left...its amazing, in this thread I've seen how Political Views Reign supreme over there. I have never seen a country so divided by its own people. No wonder you guys got bombed, Unity isn't America's strong point and right here in this thread it shows.
Nelson Mandela changed the world, for good or bad he made a change, not many people on the earth have or could even do this. He's dead, gone, buried, maggot and worm food, he can't rise up and reassure either side. accept what he did because nobody can change it.

Lucylastic -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/6/2013 6:09:01 PM)

18 out of the 43 responses were from non US residents. so IM not sure if that gives you a good basis for claiming that, ...BUT... He is gone....and the world was a better place for having him in it.

MsMJAY -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/6/2013 6:52:26 PM)

The bomb comment was rather rude.

EdBowie -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 1:36:37 AM)

I don't know who is funding this meme, but the factoids are too cookie cutter to not be orchestrated somehow.

That '50 murders'  stat ignores the fact that 30 of the victims are still blacks.

The claims of seizing all white owned farms and businesses, is a deliberate conflation with Idi Amin in Uganda decades ago.

The immense poverty is based on the fact that as black people have moved from 70 - 80% under the poverty line to 50% in the middle class, a large number of white people who were living comfortably on government 'apparatchik' checks have lost them and have no marketable skills.  After world revulsion at the images of apartheid tanked the economy, it is finally returning to stability.

The genocide against whites never happened, but now Storm Front is full of fake shock at SA 'necklacing'.
Necklacing is when the white police would handcuff a black man, and put burning tires around his head... for fun, or to send a message.  After apartheid, there were many calls for revenge in kind, like the Mau-Mau in the 50s Congo.  One of the people to answer that call was Winnie Mandela and her criminal gang.  Nelson turned his back on any such revenge pogrom (and ultimately on his wife) to keep the country whole.

And the rest of the swarm of lies such as death squads, playboy life style, and socialist allegiances to launch terrorist attacks the West, seem to have come directly from the script of a fictional movie that put a Robert Mugabe like dictator (Zimbabwe), into an imaginary SA.

So no one's perfect but is South Africa worse off or better off now than it was under apartheid?

According to someone I know who lives there it's much worse. She tells me that under apartheid they at least had basic law and order. Now she says the crime situation is horrible, some of it quite heinous. *Hectic* is what she calls it, in other words she says you have to pay attention almost everywhere so as not to become a crime victim because it's not just confined to certain neighborhoods. There are 3 races that pretty much hate each other, whites, blacks (pure African ancestry), and colored(mixed black with white or other races). According to her DaddySatyr is correct, whitey doesn't fair so well these days in South Africa. In her opinion blacks and coloreds have it worse now than under apartheid.

She's white I presume.

Crime was always rampant in the black ghettos. Violence was common and the OSS used violence to intimidate the blacks. Blacks committed little violence against whites because a black caught in a whites area was subject to imprisonment and/or death.

I presume you're implying since she's white she must be looking at things from a racist perspective.

From the book, Into the Cannibal's Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa by Ilana Mercer,

“When South Africa was governed by a racist white minority, it was scorned by the West and treated as Saddam Hussein was, with boycotts and sanctions. Now that a racist, black-majority government controls the country; that it is as violent as Iraq, Liberia, or the Congo and rapidly becoming another Islamist-friendly, failed African state, it is the toast of the West.”

"There are more than 50 murders a day. It leads the world in child and baby rapes, to say nothing of adult rapes. The number of white farmers and their families, including children, targeted, brutally tortured and sadistically murdered on their own farms or in their own houses, some 4,000 since apartheid ended in 1994, literally making farming in South Africa the most dangerous occupation in the world. Car-jackings are a daily occurrence with drivers frequently kidnapped and murdered. Commonplace home invasions and robberies force people to live like prisoners in homes protected by walls, electric fences, trained dogs, hired guards, alarm systems, motion detectors inside and out, safe rooms and, if they’re able, weapons – although they’re illegal."

The place is a shit hole just like damn near every other country in Africa. That second paragraph is pretty much how she described it to me and as far worse after apartheid for everyone, especially blacks and those of mixed race.

There were no mau-mau in the Congo...........they were Simbas and they were totally mad and usually off their faces on ganja. They were impervious to the white mans bullets, or so they believed. They weren't.
The mau mau were from kenya and Uganda and were basically Kikuyu who broke their tribal vows and were only left with the mau-mau and the witchdoctors thereof.
If you want to talk about the wars in Africa, either study them or talk with somebody who was in them

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 1:55:23 AM)

Necklacing MAY have been done by cops but usually it was done by rival gangs or tribes and had nothing to do with the cops

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 1:58:09 AM)

and before you ask, yes I have been there and fought in the west and southern areas of the continent

EdBowie -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 2:01:58 AM)

'Mau-mau' was a term well used by the British for many militant African nationalist terror attacks during that era. At least well used by the British press when I lived there during that time.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 2:15:15 AM)

OSS in South Africa ? Do you mean BOSS.............those bastards in suits and sunglasses ? Bureau of State Security.

EdBowie -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 2:16:36 AM)

And this relates to the larger point, how?  (the claim that it was done by Nelson Mandela to large numbers of white people post apartheid)

It was a particularly dehumanizing form of violence, employed indiscriminately.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 2:28:16 AM)

No but DomKen used the acronym 'OSS' in one of his messages..............It was BOSS and yes, they were bad bastards. Like I said, talk to some of the guys who were there. Ask about the 'Wild Geese Club'............They will help you

EdBowie -> RE: Nelson Mandela dies (12/7/2013 2:38:34 AM)

I have talked to several people who were there...  and they were considerably older than 45.   I doubt seriously if I'm the one that needs help.

I can not know what he was implying but if she's white I think it's fair to presume her perception was distorted as she was separated from the majority of the problems in her country.

One republicans comments

"Nelson Mandela stood up against a great injustice and was willing to pay a huge price for that. That's the reason he's mourned today, because of that struggle that he performed," But you're right, I mean, what he was advocating for was not necessarily the right answer, but he was fighting against some great injustice, and I would make the argument that we have a great injustice going on right now in this country with an ever-increasing size of government that is taking over and controlling people's lives, and Obamacare is front and center in that."

way to minimize and over exaggerate all in one paragraph.
Bless his heart

As For Mandela, RIP Sir

Let me guess....Rush Limbaugh? Sounds like something that 'waste of humanity' would spew forth on the airwaves....

Wrong, if it had been rush he would have been given his own thread. But it really doesn't matter who said it, after all according to some of the folks on here they all speak for each other and think alike.

Seems my initial answer was partially correct. Wrong man but same 'asshole ideology' from the conservative philosophy. Yes none other than Rick Santorum!

Well there are certainly assholes on the right and you do love to crow about how people on the right are evil so once in a while you are going to nail it. Now if you could just see that there are assholes on the left as well people might actually listen to what you say and maybe even take you seriously.

As Lucy pointed out, not all the responses were from the US but even if they were there are over 317 million people in the states. All the posts on cm are going to tell you is what that individual person thinks and feels. We got bombed because there are evil people in the world who like to cause chaos and seem to feel anyone who doesn't think like they do should die.
