It is a privacy issue.
They, nor anyone else on this site, is legally allowed to give you that info.

And NO, it is none of your business whether he has closed his account or not.
It is not your account and therefore you have no business with it.
If he was slandering you or was indicating any illegal activity, you can report it.
Beyond that.... it's none of your business what he does with it.

That is why they probably didn't answer you - it wasn't necessary.
You aren't privvy to that info. Simples!!

Who do you believe the Mods are? I have not received anything from you and I do not believe any of the forum staff have either. Each Mod has their own profile that you can attempt to send them messages on the profile side.

Realize that we are messaged by many users, often with items that have nothing to do with the areas that we work in.

You indicate further in this topic that you want information about another account. No matter who you contacted you would not receive that as it would violate privacy terms.

2. You don't trust anyone.

Either way, the relationship is in trouble.

The good news for you is that it's darn near impossible for men to meet women on the other side. All the women get sensitized after a day or two to men contacting them who are married or otherwise cheating. And a man with a hidden profile would be a dead giveaway.

So your relationship should be safe from him tomcatting around on this site.

Maybe. It could go either way. Personally, I would have interpreted it as an insult as well. HOWEVER...A little piece of advice... (take it or leave it) ... ignore people that you feel deliberately insult you. In fact, there is a little "hide button" you can click to hide a particular poster. It'll save yourself some time.

"Sod off" isn't really ... well isn't it the British version of "fuck off"? Which to me is a pretty darned strong thing to say (and not terribly creative in the realm of insults / responses)

It is not your business.
It is also sad that not knowing is this upsetting to you.

My guess is if you have suspicions that he is not being truthful that either:
A) there are red flags all over the place and you are pretending not to see them
OR
B) if you take a hard honest look at yourself you will notice that you have a tendency to be suspicious of everyone close to you.

Option A indicates a problem with him (and with you because you picked him, or allowed him to pick you).
Option B indicates there is a problem with your ability to trust.

In either case, you are responsible for your choices and your behavior.

While men who are married and cheating MAY have a hidden profile, it does not mean that EVERY man with a hidden profile is married and cheating, so I wonder why you and various others from this site insist on propagating that rumor? And, I do wonder...do you also believe that women with hidden profiles are married and cheating?

By the way...I am not married. I am not cheating. And my profile is hidden. I have my own reasons for hiding my profile, and none of them have anything to do with infidelity or any other nefarious reason.

When my man and I realized we were serious about each other, he asked me to close my OKCupid account (where we met) and said he would do the same. Without being asked, I put my profile here on Hide, unsubscribed from a bunch of Fet groups and put a note on my profile there that I was happily monogamous. I trust him and never felt a need to check that he had in fact closed his OKC account.

I was surprised to see that, like me, you are in your 40s.

The fact that you asked Support to check up on your bf and were not patient enough to wait for the response does not bode well for your relationship.

OP, you do realize that it's very easy just to close the old account and open a new one if a person is so inclined to do that, correct?

Seems to me that if you are so obsessed (not quite the right word...but perhaps not that far off the mark either) with this situation that you not only emailed mods to ask about it, but also created an entire thread around the fact that what is clearly an insecurity of yours hasn't been addressed as rapidly as you would have liked...well...sounds like you have way bigger problems than maybe even you realized.

This isn't healthy. If you cannot trust him, do both of you a favor and end it now. If he is up to no good, you don't need to be with that. But if he's totally innocent and you are just highly paranoid and suspicious, he doesn't need to be with that.
