It's Christmas eve.

Last night the slave was feeling low on holiday spirit. So to lift her spirits, I joined her shopping for Christmas dinner and I picked up some of those Christmas hats. When we got home, I had her put on a hat and put her ass up on the spanking bench. Then beat her ass her with a bullwhip.

I am pleased to mention that her spirits are much better now . . . and so are mine. I've never whipped anyone dressed up like that before and it had its own weird kink to it. Then I got trashed on egg nog as we watched Sin City. She had never seen that before.

We are going to have a traditional Christmas dinner. The turkey will be apple & maple glazed, standard bread stuffing, home made mashed potatoes and gravy, veggie melody, home made cranberry sauce and store bought pumpkin pie.

What are you having for dinner and are you doing anything special to lift your holiday spirits?

FR

It's funny: 2013 has been my "annus horribilis"--two cancers, three operations, six hospital stays--yet I've actually been more festive than usual. I decorated my place for the first time in ages, and I'm particularly proud of how well my gift wrapping (a favorite pastime) turned out.

Yet, oddly, I'm exhausted and mopey today, now that Christmas is almost upon us. Holiday music has helped my spirits a bit, as will my rereading of A Christmas Carol--a cherished tradition.

I don't know what my cousin plans to serve for dinner.

Sorry the phone pix aren't great.

Table with my grandmother's cloth. One candle is red, the other green.

Sorry the pix are so big! I don't have a tool for reducing them.

I've caught a bug! So the 3 day trip to visit family has been canceled by...me! I'm ordering pizza tonight, that'll be Christmas supper too. Mister Man is back on the 30th, stays until the 4th, so we at least we'll have New Year's together.

kiwisub12 -> RE: -=Happy Holidays=- (12/24/2013 1:08:05 PM)

Petit Jean ham with cider and honey glaze, asparagus with garlic oil roasted, hot potato salad, and broccoli cornbread and rolls. Desert is pumpkin bread pudding with caramel sauce , pavlova with strawberries and raspberries and whipped cream, and almond pound cake, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for miles. Mulled apple cider (warm) for fluids.

I'm my kids and my sweetie over for dinner.

I have to admit, once you dump all the commercial crap, the buy-buy-buy that is thrust at you for weeks and weeks and weeks, and concentrate on why we actually celebrate Christmas, I like Christmas a lot more. This year I dumped the idea of decorating and have enjoyed my time, cooking and listening to Christmas carols.

needlesandpins -> RE: -=Happy Holidays=- (12/24/2013 2:02:25 PM)

I will be roasting a crown turkey stuffed with sausage meat, sage and onion, chestnuts, orange and cranberry, covered with bacon. honey and mustard roast carrots, and parsnips, sprouts, roast potatoes, mash, and pigs in blankets. we may, or may not have Christmas pudding much later in the evening.

as for holiday spirits; I can't say as I've had much at all. i'm not in the best of health, and now I have a cold. however, today I have made my glazed ham as usual for the boy and I. the smells have lifted me. knowing I have done all my family duties so that it's just the boy, and I tomorrow until the evening helps too.

Okie dokie, can't order pizza, BUT my favorite Chinese place is open and still delivering. I'm having "A Christmas Story" type meal for the next 3-4 nights. Perfectly happy with that. No stress, no fuss, no mess. [sm=pigsfly.gif]

Well, RS, instead of having a nice dinner with my significant other tonight, I ended up working at the bar while she went to dinner with her family instead. The owner called, and had me close the joint early 'cause I didn't have anyone at the time, so I ended up at another bar, had an excellent burger, got heinously drunk, and am now sitting here on the computer replying to this message.

Not that I wanted to party with her people-her mom is okay, a little dizzy, but a delightful human being nonetheless. Her brothers and sister-in-law? All I'd feel is recoil, to be honest. I've got a couple frozen lobster tails and steaks, and a nice bottle of wine all ready here, but I guess I'll just have to wait until after New Years. She's working that night, and I've picked up a gig bartending for the holiday.

jlf1961 -> RE: -=Happy Holidays=- (12/24/2013 8:29:00 PM)

Merry Christmas everyone.

At thanksgiving, it was decided that instead of a traditional Christmas meal, we were going to do something different.

And as a result, there is a contest in the house this year. My niece and I are competing on the best lasagna.

This morning, at 7AM after feeding the dogs, my sauce went on to slow cook. I am making a veggie lasagna, fresh chopped spinach, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, Romano and asiago cheeses.

My niece just started her sauce about 8 this evening, and she is only using three cheeses, mild Italian sausage and ground beef.

All this talk about food is making us (bears) mighty hungry....
Hope everybody enjoys whatever feast they are planning to prepare.
We have been staying with relatives out of town, so we got off easy this year. We have been helping out, of course.
(Have to keep the noise volume turned way down, though, and be on our best behavior. ;)

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With Tidings of Joy and Goodwill to All,
- Lisa & Cub

Merry Christmas to all and keep a eye out for older men white long white hair and matching beards. HO HO HO

LadyPact -> RE: -=Happy Holidays=- (12/24/2013 11:41:02 PM)

The menu isn't as extensive this year. MP and I sat down and had a talk about what we should really do and what we shouldn't do. The reconstructive stuff on My mouth just really isn't up to certain dishes.

What has been retained on the menu? Ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus, gravy, and fresh crescents. For appetizers, skipping the raw veggies, keeping meats, specials cheeses, and some types of crackers. Deviled eggs, though I will probably eat those with knife and fork. A selection of very nice deserts, of the soft variety.

It is My sincere hope to wish you good tidings of the season.

Season's greetings to one and all.

I hope 2014 will bring everything you wish for and more! [:D]

PS: Does any one do New Year's Resolutions any more?
