While I really, really , do not like the guy and his views, promoting that girls should be married at the age of 15-16 has nothing to do with pedophilia (which I assume you ment instead of pederasty). Pedophilia specifically refers to the attraction to pre-pubescent children, which girls at that age are not.

I'd never looked up the definition just heard Catholic Bishops try and defend their priests abusing teen agers by saying it wasn't pedophilia but pederasty. It never occurred to me that the gender mattered. Some digging finds the correct term is ephebophilia. The question remains do cons continue to support this piece of filth?

FR Of course, the fact that is going to get left out, over and over and over again, as the developmentally disabled libs seek to pursue their new hate object, is that Phil was 16 years old, when he married his 15 year old bride. While libs are more than happy to have the rest of us financing the birth control and abortions of teenagers, God forbid anyone should suggest they should be having those inevitable relations within the institution of marriage. Maybe they would make an exception for gay marriages?

And if you had actually watched the video where he advocated adult men marrying 15 year olds you'd know he wasn't talking about 15 and 16 year olds marrying each other.

I am a Christian…I know many Christians…none hold all the beliefs on homosexuals, blacks, and children marriage as Phil Robertson. The United States is a majority Christian nation with a majority that believes in a God…Poll after poll has shown Americans, meaning Christians, do NOT hold the same prejudices as Robertson and his asshole supporters. Myself I am sick and tired of being labeled a gay basher…conservative fanatic…bible thumper and associated with the likes of Robertson simply because I believe in God. I don’t care what the churches position is on gay marriage and gays in general. I do not believe a God would create gays only to condemn and abandon them and polls show the majority of Christians agree with me. We should remove his bastardized religious beliefs from main stream religion and realize ignorance, superstition, and prejudice are the root of this issue not Christianity. I believe A&E putting money in front of integrity will not serve them well in the long run. The real reality in my opinion is America is disgusted by his rants....BUT.... they do not feel they should be denied entertainment to show their disgust. This does say something on our moral resolve but it is also human nature...the dark side of indifference to our fellow man. This forum is proof of moral apathy in the human race in general. NONE posting in this thread believe in Robertson's positions but some defend him when they should be categorically condemning him. None of this has anything to do with the right to free speech and should not even be brought up as a defense. No one has the right to free speech without being responsible for the reactions and repercussions to the words spoken. Butch
