What those pursuits may be are none of my concern unless he chooses to share them with me. He knows, as do I, that at any given moment, any of that may be altered through his will. Should he decide, suddenly, that micromanagement will better serve his needs, then micromanagement it shall be. If he decides it will better serve his needs to release me and send me away.. then I have no doubt, I shall be sent away. It is my ardent desire that this does not happen so I do my best to please him with quick obedience and by pleasing him through anticipation of his needs and desires. That's worked for 10+ years and it is my hope it shall continue to work until one of us is no longer around. My style of life, is one of service to the owner. His style of life is one of ownership of a slave. The BDSM is entertainment.. one of the ways we play .. that will go away as we both age and infirmary and disability to engage in some of the activities departs but the M/s, as long as he desires it, as long as I continue to please him, and with a bit of luck, that will last the rest of our lives. This is how I view the M/s lifestyle for us. Celeste

I'm a little bit of a demagogue, but that's about it. TreSwank has always been way too apathetic towards authority figures to be considered a "misfit".

Actually - I think this an accurate representation of the public scene as I've experienced it. In fact I'll take the D&D, Star Trek fans, or geeks in general rather than the people Ive met in the public scene.

I love it! In the shitty poetry thread you demand scholarly debate, and here put down the way it is schoolish. I do agree that there are mutual admiration societys in the " Lifestyle ". Same as any group. But a whole bunch of folks are just here to find their kind of fun/fulfillment/passion. Any group has those that want to be the board of directors. But most here just try to go about things while tolerating the ones who try to tell them what's real or right, the rules. You have some good points of discussion, but you state them with such hard edges......

In both posts, I'm trying to get similar points across. The ''geeky'' pretentious, pseudo-transgressive pomp of Lifestylers, and the "won't somebody pay attention to the profundity of my shitty verse" online poetry, are both along the same lines of crappiness. Come on, girls and boys..........we're all just a bunch of simple pervs! There is no need to apotheosize your love of BDSM to anything other than what it is.

But some people want to. What gives you the right to judge what others can and cannot do? (Thats isnt rhetorical btw - I really want to know) I am not a fan of BDSM poetry myself - but what harm does it do me? None. So let people have their fun. What you are basically professing is that there is one true way. But there isn't. BDSM is a four letter acronym that incorporates many different branches. You don't like something, ignore it and move elsewhere. Your original post had merit, but now you are speaking like an elitist. Peace and Rapture

Don't those people who do want to apotheosize their love of BDSM remind you of those used-up curmudgeons at the local bar, who like to prattle on about their high-school football glories, and would probably name their kids "Maverick" or "Gunner" if the old lady didn't intervene?

was wondering the exact same thing. When I first clicked on the thread I figured someone was calling him out for his sexual orientation. The press and Hollywood have had this all wrong from thje beginning, so get over it. Was talking to a sub the other night and told her I heated the way Hollyweird portrayes this.
