Evidently there's a very large USCG Icebreaker on it's way to Antartica to rescue two other Ice breakers and some type of research vessel that the two Icebreakers were attempting to rescue.
I just caught a 'blurb on the news about this.
Anyone else heard about this?
This could be bad, that ice can crush a ship!

There is no ice. Global warming melted it all. It's like the fake moon landing, years ago.

I'm sure it will all work out. The people aboard are scientists, so they must have understood all the factors in that sort of thing, right?

You can't make this stuff up. A bunch if climate change scientists stuck in ice that is more than 10 feet thick.

The msm has failed to report that the scientists on board the Russian ship which got stuck in the ice were on a mission to prove that humans are responsible for global warming. That they were trapped by ice which, according to Al Gore et al human caused global warming scientists, have for at least a decade should have been long gone by now is a real hoot. ROFLMAO.

I also noticed the irony, here.

There was an article on Yahell explaining the "polar vortex" that we're experiencing. The PPLs have found a way to make that about global warming , also.

I guess that proves there is no global warming then? Good to know that experts such as your good self are around to denounce these stupid scientists who have nothing better to do than trying to learn and understand our planet.

I've often thought the same, DTP. Blasted scientists - going around learning stuff and believing in what they've learned. Communists, every man jack of them.

Don't worry....there are 6 icebreakers behind 4 other ice breakers that are following the original icebreaker that went in to take the ship out when two other icebreakers didn't get the job done.

It's all being handled.

Ha, remember when the warmers had their little soire in Copenhagen a few years ago?
A huge snow storm and record low temps.
And they had to import limosines in from Holland and Belgium because of a shortage!
"God Dammit,...we're WARMERS, we want LIMOSINES!" "We're entitled!"
And a guy in a polar bear suit calling out some scientist's name!
Too funny!
And, if they're getting paid, of course they're going to say that global warming exists!
"Oh,...sorry! We were wrong, there's no such thing as global warming so,.....ah,....I guess you'll be stopping our paychecks now. "Shucks, back to ADM for me I guess,....at half the pay, no more sucking off the govt."
AND, they mentioned on the news last night that Obama sent $7 B of OUR Tax Dollars to foreign countries for global warming!
A LOT of people are pissed at that!
I think that that merits an irate phone call to my congressman's office today.

Really? You really think this was about science? This had nothing to do with "science".

They got a grant for 1.5 million dollars - put a few scientis in a an old soviet vessel, and then sold the rights to alarmists and journalists to accompany them - raising FAR more money. This entire event was a press release.

Think about it. They planned it for a couple of years. Retracing Mawson's steps. Advertising how the planet was warmer at every step of the way.

Unfortunately, mother nature didn't cooperate. Record sea ice - highest in 35 years. Did they cancel the event? Tell the people that were along for the journey that the event was going to be cancelled. Well that might generate the wrong kind of press - "global warming a hoax" etc.

So they set off anyway. Knowing they were never going to be able to add any meaningful science.
