I think Mrs Reeves said it best. She didn't know why her husband fired the single shot. They were both saying things back and forth to one another and tempers flared. Reeves wasn't scared for his life, he was pissed off. IMO

Status: offline 		In what part of the video do you see actions that would render someone afraid for their life? It doesn't show Reeves getting directly hit, it's not a direct or clear view. How can you justify using deadly force by that video? I will base my opinion on what his own wife stated. Even his actions after the shooting are disturbing. He did not try to render aid, nor did he call 911 or seek management. He just sat there.

It does show Oulsen striking out at him.
His actions after the shooting are consistent with a man in shock.

And yes, the video quite clearly shows someone hitting him in the face (while he was sitting down and in no way the aggressor), by all accounts, the person hitting him was Oulsen. Do you have a legal cite stating that it isn't a crime unless choking is included?

What it does not show is the back and forth you claimed happened or the 'merely throwing popcorn' that others claimed happened.

And 'lifelong cop' Seriously? Like Batman? Still on the job at 71?

What's so hard about sticking to reality without the hype... 'The video shows the elderly man who had been retired for decades from police work, being assaulted while sitting in the movies'.

Still not sufficient to determine guilt or innocence, but a whole lot less gossipy.

Yes, with the bag of popcorn that he took from Reeves...not with his hand or fist.

There is no "may" about it. It clearly shows that Oulsen grabbed the bag of popcorn and threw it back at Reeves.
Reeves says Oulsen struck and bent his glasses.
Here is what the article says, "Reeves told the detective that Oulsen hit him in the face and that his glasses became crooked." To me that is saying that Oulsen hit him in the face (with the popcorn) and that his glasses became crooked (askew, due to being hit with a bag of popcorn), which is NOT the same as bent. People that wear glasses often get them bumped, causing them to sit askew...or "crooked". To claim they were "bent" from that simple statement is stretching it quite a bit.
What will you say if it turns out that Reeves' glasses actually were damaged?


It's pretty obvious from the video that Reeves became aggressive after he was hit with the popcorn. He didn't cower back into his seat as if afraid for his life. He aggressively leaned forward, half out of his seat, toward Oulsen, and shot him.
