Eating pizza with a fork, this guy should be recalled and put in prison!

Seriously, was it a slow news day? Christie and bridgegate wasnt enough?

I want to know why anyone thought this was news worthy?

I've always eaten pizza with a knife and fork.
Civilized people use cutlery (or chopsticks, if appropriate).

The number of people I saw in the US with utterly deplorable table manners was disgusting.
I've seen better manners at the chimp's tea party!

in Italy we eat pizza with fork and knife in a resturant, it is accepltable (but not the best thing to do) to eat with hands a small piece with the border but the whole slice is inappropriate.

If it gets people's attention, it's deemed newsworthy. I often wonder why they spend so much time on celebrity and entertainment news. A newly elected mayor might also have a certain celebrity status, still in the honeymoon stage. That's what this is. This is just a way of saying how much they love their new mayor, so much so that the only thing "wrong" with him is that he eats pizza with a fork. Isn't that just so special?

Nope.
Pizza, burgers and hotdogs: knife and fork.
Ribs: fork.
Corn on the cob: cob forks.

Even chips (fries to you): fork.

That's why a lot of Americans have awful table manners - most eat food as if it were finger food.
Apart from sarnies (and not the Danish 'open' variety), I can't think of anything much that qualifies as finger food.

In some ways, I can see it if you're in a place wearing a nice suit and don't want to get messy. Sometimes, these foods can be a bit messy if eaten by hand, so using utensils might be practical on certain occasions. On the other hand, Carl's Jr. uses it as a selling point, claiming that it's not a good burger unless it gets you all messy.

Pizza can be kind of messy, too. If you're not holding it right, you could slip and have goop all over your pants or shirt. It looked like there were a lot of toppings on that pizza, too.
