I've heard others make the same claim about other horrors--including, if memory serves, 9/11. In their eagerness to score political points off still-warm bodies, these "religious" folks don't pause to think that they're painting a brutal picture of God--slaying his children in a fit of pique over school prayer.

I'm surprised to see you buying into that interpretation, DC. The premise isn't that God is doing the slaying, but that it has happened since we kicked him out.

Of course, starting the day with a prayer was still the norm at the time of worst school massacre in US history.

Meh....stop apologizing for the gop`s suck-n-swallow of the Christian right.....

It`s the same hateful, bigoted rightwing scree linking gay rights and/or abortions to earthquakes or storms......as with Christo-fascists robertson or hagee and with Huckabee too..........

Same bloody stool...same bloody stench....

Like blaming Bush for everything this President fucks up?

Now be fair...they don't blame everything on Bush. St Ronnie still gets credit for a lot of the problems of today.

Really...lol...

Show us who and prove that`s not a lazy lie...

And it isn`t just democrats who blame shrub for what he did.....

Most Americans also do.....It`s only the most extreme and deluded republicans who think our President Obama crashed the economy....who don`t.

The ones who think Canadian ted cruz is neato and backed the shut-down/extortion attempt.

If you saw the film.....you`d see mittens and crew acknowledging/blaming "bush malaise" for the poor performance.

Is the big-wiba-wool monster making mittens admit this fact or is he doing it with free will?

I'll buy that. He was the one who invited the religious right into the Republican party thus changing the party and their policies for decades.

Mis-post...sorry buds.

cloudboy -> RE: Mitt Romney (1/28/2014 1:53:00 PM)

So far not one right wing respondent has shown one iota of interest in film, Mitt. It helps show how they are not really "for" anything; i.e. they weren't so much "for" Romney as against Obama.

Owner59 -> RE: Mitt Romney (1/28/2014 4:07:09 PM)

Jesus ...all one need do is remember that train-wreck they called a primary, to see the dysfunction and schisms.[:D]

No amount of tweaking or repackaging can solve that problem.

As far as being against Obama in '12, that's kind of a "well duh." Maybe ya'll have missed it, but he really sucks at actually doing the job he's been so good at campaigning for.

Beyond that, I'm "for" all sorts of things. Maybe if you read posts, instead of just reading off talking points scribbled on your cuff, and replying to avatars, you'd know that.

Mitt's old man was fairly ok, a little too trusting, he bigged up the size of Govt in Michigan, gave them their first state income tax, and was big into volunteerism and civil rights.  Worked on Smoot-Hawley. Worked for better conditions for working men with labor leaders in WW2,  hammered the FHA for housing for the poor, and the desegregation of housing and a move to get blacks out of the ghetto and into the suburbs.

On the bad side, he did time as a lobbyist, and oversaw HUD and FHA when there was some deep skinning of black folk from guys associated with GMA and the FHA.

His kid was pretty much a mutt.

One weird part about rereading Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 during Romney the Younger's own hilariously flailing campaign last time around was getting to the few short references HST made to Old Man Romney and realizing how much cooler he was than his kid turned out to be.

I disliked and mistrusted Obama so much from the jump that I never noticed what a good campaigner he really is. It has only been in the past year or so that I'll hear a soundbyte from The Big O and think "Oh. That's why so many of my friends got snookered. He really CAN talk like a good leftist when it's to his advantage."

It might help if you put some facts and information around your assertions but your posts are reading liking empty retorts.

Owner59 -> RE: Mitt Romney (1/28/2014 8:39:59 PM)

The President has overseen the largest increase in the Dow Jones average of any president in history......

http://www.1stock1.com/1stock1_139.htm

From 8776.39 in '08' to a whopping 16576.66 today ! The highest the DJA has been in history.....

Almost doubling the average......

An increase of over 7800 points.....

Now anyone else ,in any business arena that had that level of turn around and success after taking over an failing mutual fund or a pension fund, business or institution , would be congratulated and acknowledged.......unless he`s a black man being judged by republicans, that is....

I don't do links for the sky being blue, Cloudboy. I'm happy to tell you where to go look. For some, I'm just happy to tell them where to go. [;)]
