Insisting that every sub calls them Sir from the word go, just because they are 'Mr. Dommly McDommerson' (sorry, have been waiting for the opportunity to use that lol ) and not understanding that I wont call someone Sir unless I intend to submit or at least scene with them and this, of course, makes me not a 'real sub'

When a dominant finds out I smoke and I'm not even his submissive but he still flips out like "ohmagod I'm gonna make u stop that if u move in with me" and gets really weird about it... >.> Also, probably the way that most dominants I've met feel about submissives. A lot that I've talked to so far seem to have this idea that either you're a total submissive, bowing to their every whim and having no life or opinion of your own, or you're a "fake submissive" and you obviously have no business in the kink world. >.<

I've encountered many that just assume I enjoy giving oral and when I'm honest enough to say I do not enjoy it but do it very well, they are shocked.

I agree with a lot of the above, my biggest gripe after the initial belief by dominants that my life can be better run after knowing me for 10 minutes compared to my 24 years of getting by just fine,is the dominant without ideas. It's so frustrating when after discussing likes and dislikes they are asking me what I want done, completely shattering the power control as I'm the one in the driving seat. What's the point if the sub has to do all the thinking. That being said I've spoken to many who are respectful (very important, we are still human let's not forget) kind (when they need to be, I think dominants sometimes forget how vulnerable a sub can make themselves, we often need reassurances) and intelligent, so I mustn't complain too much :)

The Dominant that would tell my Dominant 'you should punish your sub for doing X,Y,Z' at a public event. The Dominant who did not accept that he was on a path that required constant learning. The Dominant who was forever living in the past. The Dominant who could not trust me to make my own decisions regarding online friendships or to defend myself online should someone attempt to seduce me away. The Dominant who could not live with the reality that I needed time when the collar is off just as much as I needed time when the collar is on. The Dominant who insisted on high protocol, including formal positions, eye contact restrictions, and a bazillion other niggling rules to the point that it drove me insane. The Dominant who cared not a whit if I was growing as a person, but only concerned himself with my sexual horizons.
