I'm on disability and I am to report all income made, regardless of the amount. If it is over the amount I recieve for disability, I do not recieve a check that month. If it is less, I will get the difference. This is a crux everyone is tip toeing around without saying it out loud.

I heard of one girl who got a job and actually reported it to the government. They kept sending her the same amount of disability although she had reported. A year later, they billed her for like 15k.

So it is not that you cannot make more than 2k. All monies must be reported and they will give you the difference so your income will come out to be the 2k.

Sorry i meant i can't have more than 2 k in my bnk at any given time. and i can't make over 100 a pay check.

now here's the thing. are you disabled because you were emotionally damaged beyond repair in the eyes of the SSI people or because your body don't work right. I'm on SSI because I'm messed up beyond repair mentally and emotionally in the eyes of the state, and that makes rules a wee bit different. i assume, i dn't have to report an add 10 or 12 dollars i make here or there. and im not going to get in trouble for not reporting it they don't care about panty anty pocket cash here or there. they want to know if i am bringing in enough to support myself on the side, while claiming i need help and im not.

The rules are not different whether you are on SSI for physical or mental disability.

And are you my case worker who reviews me and i am getting things from directly, my how different you look if so. i know you will argue me to the ground till the cows come home. but i know for a fact they don't care i recycle crap i have and get a little bit off it. AS LONG AS I CAN'T LIVE OFF IT i'll make you a deal fly out on your own dime. come to my next review and ask them. if they care i will eat crow. if not stop insisting what you know my case reviwer would or would not like because you're not them.


that goes for any of you. Since some of you are so desperate to shout me down that i am wrong, i am wrong come put your money where your mouth is. I may be full of bad idea's and stuff and go off half cocked on smethings i am 100 percent right on, but not always in the right way but i put my money where my mouth is.

In this thread, you claim to not have a case worker. That was at the beginning of this month. If you want people to help you, you have to tell the truth. People cannot help you if you cannot be believed. How dare you chastise other people!

i get reviewed just like every one else. that's it. I ask every time i am reviewed if things change. I asked last time i was reviewed about working. and they don't care that i have pocket cash. they just don't want me making a side living. and im not.

Chris, check what I said. I didn't say they care if you make a couple of buck s recycling. I said that the rules are the same whther you collect SSI becuae of a physical disabilitty of a mental one.

Obviously you are angry that I have said you don't have a lawsuit (of course I worked in the legal field for 20 years, what do I know?), and that your mental health is spiraling. That's ok if you are mad.

Just so you know if I actually could afford to fly out thedre, I would. I would go with you to your appointments and help advocate for you so you get the help you need.

But please feel free to be angry with me if it makes you feel better. It saddens me every day what you go through because there is no one comepetant to help you.

Honey, actually I'm not angry. im worn out. honestly. I been at the hospital the last 3 days getting patched up I am scared. I am hurt and I am indignant. I have a case against Kaiser. but not a legal one, a members service one

See, now you are thinking. By all means complain to Kaiser about what they did. It is horrible that you have no one to help you advocate for yourself. I don't know anything about the California system, so the only help I can offer is about the federal programs and having constant vigilance.

While I do understand what you are trying and hoping to do, you would be much better off working part time in a good will store or something of that nature. Is there a Division of Vocational Rehabilitaion near you? They work with disabled adults (physical or mental) to help train them for and finad appropriate employment.

I don't say this to be mean, but have you been deemed developmentally disabled? Bad as it seems, that could open quite a few doors for you help wise. It would also help if you had a guardian ad litum, someone who could help advocate for you and protect your rights.

I made $12 an hour for putting icecream bars in boxes when I was younger.

It'd be a good fit for you, you are only expected to do one thing for your entire shift.

if she was diagnosed as developmentally disabled, usually it goes to court where a guardian ad litum is appointed, at least it was that way in PA. I worked in the court system. Maybe it's different in CA. I'm thinking she has one, probably one of her parents, and they never told her this and they couldn't care less what happens to her. And her daddy it sounds like is just above developmentally delayed, enough to work but that's about it.

Basically, pocket cash is petty. You still need ssi. Making a living you no longer need ssi but you don't tell them that.

I do believe it is different in various places. Kansas last time I checked had over 12000 people hoping to get assistance because they could not function properly and needed help. Some of them becoming homeless because they couldn't manage their lives. When my son was evaluated in MO, because of a family issue, we were told, he knows his own mind, therefore no judge in any state would give him a guardian. He knows he doesn't want to cook his canned chili or to throw away his pop bottles.. he wants to keep them. He knows if he wants to see people or not, but he doesn't know that they manipulate him and how they do that. He doesn't know about money and how he needs to manage it. Brain damaged, he has come a long way, as I taught him, but that could amount to... he knows he wants to cook something, forgets it is cooking and burns the place down.

If someone doesn't care for him... he could be on the street. That ought to be interesting. It seems to be where many get filed.
