Dc, most areas have 211. They provide names and numbers for local resources people need, whether it be mental health, food pantries or homeless assistance.

Don't pick up old tires.

You often find them discarded on public land because they are considered hazmat and are expensive to pay for disposal. Shady tire places charge the legal disposal charge and dump them out and pocket the money. If you find old tires or containers of used oil, call your state EPA, Department of Environmental Quality, or whatever it is called where you live and report the dumping.

If you pick up old tires and take them home, now YOU are responsible for proper disposal.

You can only cut so many in half to edge your driveway.

I know, but you can build with old tires too, there's many many many, uses for them, as well as selling them very cheaply to others who want craft tires. You can make a ton of things out of them other than just lining a driveway, or making a flower bed out of them.

you find a ton of old crap here cuz we're out in the country and people get away with dumping all the time. Will the EPA come get them?

Plus they collect stale water and breed mosquitoes. Which is why so many town ordinances prohibit collecting them.
