I have been cheated out of a life and lifestyle by some one and I want to know who it is!

First Philip K. Dick assured me that this was going to happen:

1982- June 26 to be precise, an asteroid large enough to screw up the climate but not large enough to wipe out the entire human population was to hit the Pacific ocean.
I want to know who changed its trajectory!

Because this did not happen, we did not get the Esper computers, hyperdrives space craft, replicants and of course, no one became blade runners. Granted 40% of the human population was not wiped out in 82, but still.

Then Isaac Asimov promised that in the early nineties we would have positronic robots, and by now we would have personal robots in the home. US Robotics were supposed to develop the positronic brain by 1989.

Of course Roddenberry told us that in the mid 90's the Eugenics wars would break out, nearly destroying the human race, and by 2010 Singh Khan would have left earth on the Botany Bay, we should have various warlords trying to control Europe and Asia and Cochran should be working on the warp drive.

Granted, the predictions of Phillip K. Dick and Roddenberry would have been more challenging (I would make a good Blade Runner) or in Roddenberry's version, I would have made a small fortune as a merc, might have managed becoming a warlord.

Yup, someone cheated me out of a life that would be far less boring.

After doing some research, I do believe that one or more of the admins may have been behind some of these disallowed changes in human evolution.

Depending on how you define personal robots, we do have some. www.irobot.com, makers of the roomba. I would love the gutter cleaning one.

I am talking about robots to take out the trash, wash dishes, cook dinner, clean house, everything except take the dogs out.

I am thinking that with all of the R & D costs, the typically risk averse investor class is waiting for govt. to bring your ideas to fruition to then ride that horse like they do labor. We could all be waiting a while.

Plus the Dicks and Roddenberrys' of the world didn't account for the 10-20 year delay caused by the investors rolling the dice and coming up...craps, thus necessitating a tax payer bail out and the ensuing recession. I.E....these' futures' cost money and it will have to be ours.

You forgot Anne McCaffrey!!! DragonsDawn was 3 ships that colonized a planet called Pern for 8 years until a rogue planet goes through an Oort cloud, dragging along a vicious lifeform (Thread) that can eat the planet, can be stopped by water, stone and metal and the geneticist develop firebreathing dragons that can blast Thread, using the DNA of the indigenous firelizards. And the plans for the transporter as well, I assume?
I would love not to walk out of the grocery store wondering where I left my car. Just walk into the transporter with the groceries, still in cart and then send the cart back when I finished unloading them.

Hey, I was promised that the Mayan's KNEW the world was going to end on 12/21/2012!!! Of course, I did not decorate for Christmas or buy gifts!!! Who is responsible for me having to rush around on Christmas Eve 2012? What about compensation for my emotional distress when I woke up on 12/23???

LOL, the Mayan calendar didn't end. It was time for a Mayan New Year.

The Mayan calendar's 10,000 year cycle is coordinated with perceived galactic rotation. The calendar started over again at the beginning.
