Blueswordsman -> Are there phony profiles on CM? (2/6/2014 6:18:54 PM)

Do you think there are phony profiles on this site? If so, do you have an idea why someone would fabricate a profile.

I expect almost everyone cuts a few pounds or years and understand a beginner embellishing on their experiences but why lie? What is the advantage?

Oh, Dude.........

I don't have the strength to tell you the famous story. Somebody else will have to do that.

smileforme50 -> RE: Are there phony profiles on CM? (2/6/2014 6:36:32 PM)

==> "Famous Story"? I want to hear it!! [:D]

I've run into 2 different guys....one had 2 different profiles, and the othere one just changed his profile whenever he needed to.

The first guy....I "caught" because he used the same picture of himself on both profiles....and then he came up as an "Admirer" for me TWICE. In one profile he was 42 and lived in Oakland, California and in the other he was 54 and lived in Sacramento, California.

The second one ....he messaged and in his message he told me he was a "Doctor in Delaware", but when I looked at his profile, it said he lived in Maryland. So I asked him...did that mean he lived in Maryland but worked in Delaware ....or.....what? So he said he lived in Delaware....but then when I went back to look at his profile to make sure I had read it right, his profile NOW said that he lived in OHIO....and in Ohio he was 10 years younger.

I don't understand why people do it. I mean....if you just want to chat and play online....then SAY that....and if that's the case, why do you need to lie about yourself if no one is going to meet you anyway? If you DO want to actually meet people face-to-face and maybe build some kind of relationship.....why would you lie about yourself to begin with? What does that accomplish?

You mean all those no limit barely legals with stolen photos that are actually put up by men?

Wow...I wouldn't even know where to start to make myself out to be someone I wasn't.....let alone NOT be a woman.

DesFIP -> RE: Are there phony profiles on CM? (2/6/2014 6:49:50 PM)

The story Lady P refers to practically killed the site. A man with major mental health problems made up sock puppets of four different lesbians who were all presumably in a relationship with each other. Using the different personas he went out of his way to attack anyone whom he thought had attacked him in any thread.

It was a total mess and the mods had huge problems cleaning it all up.

With no offense intended, if I'm calling you "Dude," it probably means that I'm shooting straight from the hip, without bullshit or pretense. That's actually a lot coming from a protocol chick.

Ever meet a vanilla that seriously, honestly, wanted to know about the kinks that make you tick inside? It's kind of like that. I watched a lot of folks get hurt with something about on the same kind of level and it wasn't easy for a lot of people here. Some serious heartbreak happened for some folks.

If you really want to know, I'll tell you. It won't be on the board, though.

They have no intention of meeting anyone or

they think you will be so enamored by them that you won't care about all those lies once you meet.

Correct -- there are no phony profiles here or on any other web site, be it BDSM or vanilla. People are always 100 percent honest because no one sees any advantage in being anything less than 100 percent honest. So anytime you see any profile here, you can be assured it is 100 percent accurate.

DeineSKlavin -> RE: Are there phony profiles on CM? (2/6/2014 11:26:07 PM)

They lie to enhance their self image. Often people have the image of who they are in their head; then look in a mirror or a photo and it's not the same image. They can use the net to further boost the internal image they have for themselves. Other choice is they are just lying to get their jollies or mess around with people here. Take your pick.

MsMJAY -> RE: Are there phony profiles on CM? (2/7/2014 5:44:58 AM)

Douch bag sends me a CM message. I tell him no, he messages again and I block him.
He immediately sends me another message from a different profile.
Block again
Another message from a different profile
Block again
Another message from a different profile.
After the fifth time I finally tell him that he is stalking and frightening me and that this was anything but the behavior a Mistress would want from a potential sub.
He finally gets a clue and leaves me alone.

So yeah....quite a few phony profiles.

MercTech -> RE: Are there phony profiles on CM? (2/7/2014 10:40:53 AM)

And some of the profiles are grifters trying to suck people in for a money scam.

We had an infestation of Ghana Girls a while back. It was tragic how many 20 something women were sent to Ghana for their job and their company folded stranding them.

Those must be some good drugs they've got you on.

LOL! I wish.

If they were, I'd offer to share, but it's a no-no. Seriously, my Xeloda came with pages of instructions, including a stern warning against letting anyone else take it. "Who on Earth," I wondered, "would want to party with chemo drugs?!"

It also came with a urine-yellow warning saying "TOXIC: DISPOSE OF AS BIOHAZARD." That gave me pause. My disposal method, after all, was to eat the damn things.
