A> When you say rappelling with just fishing line, are you saying regular mono-filament or the 2500lb test woven line used for ocean going fishing? <grin> Before I qualified for old fart status doing a fast drop with just a friction brake on a steel cable safety line was a lot of fun. I'm thinking mono-filament might be too bouncy for a good rappel. But, dang, I could see using multiple strands for a bungee jump.
B> Friction brake on harness mounted cable reel is something I have seen done for training.
