Banning Craig's list won't save lives, another avenue would just be found. As long as John or Jane Schmo continue to believe that nothing evil will happen to them either out of naivity or desperation to elude their loneliness, this will continue to happen.

So who has demanded that guns be 'banned"?[8|]

Why does the lunatic fringe need to play make pretend and make up bull shit about banning guns?

Are the gun-nutters so frightened and defensive that they can`t even tell the truth?

Your comment has what to do with banning Craig's list?

It comes from the "cars kill...should we ban cars?" irrational gun-nutter logic....

It`s the premise of the OP.

It was also general a reply not necessarily addressed just to you...[;)]

Please don`t take any offence.

Gotcha. I was trying to figure out how this had turned into a gun debate when the guy was stabbed.

My grandfathers gun sat loaded every night by the front door, never did it get up and decide to shoot someone on its own behalf.

Well as a site they could make it harder for predators. Maybe require information like real names addresses and verifiable contact information before posts can be made. That should slow down illegal activities.

You know maybe a background check... oh wait that's for something else.

That was funny! I would have replied sooner but I had to clean up the coffee I spit all over the floor.

kdsub -> RE: Will banning Craigslist save lives? (2/16/2014 3:23:39 PM)

Yea but some dumb ass would leave a round in the chamber... then when their wife  or child would come home they would trip over the damn thing shot their toe off.

Not so far fetched considering how some people trip  over or drop guns and maim or kill.

DominantWoman65 -> RE: Will banning Craigslist save lives? (2/16/2014 3:31:52 PM)

It's the point. The gun itself is an object until it is in the hands of a human. I could trip while carrying a screwdriver or a pot of boiling water and accidentally harm someone standing near me or myself. In all of those examples one could argue that I was armed with a "weapon".

Lucylastic -> RE: Will banning Craigslist save lives? (2/16/2014 3:38:04 PM)

and very few anti gun nuts purport that the guns are the problem
its the idiots who handle them who need close evaluation and banning.

DominantWoman65 -> RE: Will banning Craigslist save lives? (2/16/2014 3:41:30 PM)

With that Lucy, I do support restrictions.

Yep true... you could also have a  glass vial of plague setting next to your child's crib... Or a grenade in their toy box... that's the point is it not.

Don't think anyone is suggesting putting a loaded gun in their kids toy box.

Not if one hoped to be taken seriously by anyone with a working brain.

Ah, so there *is* a limit to the line 'guns aren't dangerous, people are' line, then. A glimmer of hope, at last . . . .

DominantWoman65 -> RE: Will banning Craigslist save lives? (2/16/2014 8:24:11 PM)

Guns don't load and shoot themselves. It's the human factor thrown in and then you have the responsible humans and the jackasses.

It's the same concept as the banning Pit Bull frenzy. Blame the dog and not the owner.

No bad dogs, just bad owners.

kdsub -> RE: Will banning Craigslist save lives? (2/16/2014 8:32:16 PM)

lol... no but they did suggest leaving them on the floor in front of an open door... not much different to me... Some fool would do just as I postulated...gun safety history as proven that.

I also wouldn't leave matches or antifreeze there. Your comment suggests that you have
been working on the assumption that if you think it is the misuse that makes a gun a threat
rather than the gun itself you must be insane.
