truckinslave -> It seems like a new outrage daily (2/18/2014 6:11:22 AM)

It is hard for me not to have contempt not just for 0bama0 but for his supporters as well. Even blind, naked partisan loyalty should have limits....

The damage he is doing to the country and to the office he holds will perhaps never be fixed peacefully.

A few excerpts from the NRO online story that produced my current indigestion and sneering scowl:

quote:

Obama now rules by decree. Reportedly for the 27th time, he has changed the rules of Obamacare singlehandedly, with neither congressional approval nor even ceremonial resolutions to limit his actions. Obama needs no such frivolities.“That’s the good thing about being president,” Obama joked on February 10. “I can do whatever I want.” In an especially bitter irony, Obama uttered these despicable words while guiding French president François Hollande through Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson — a key architect of America’s foundation of limited government...

Also by decree last week, Obama decided unilaterally to soften political-asylum rules. Refugees and other immigrants who provide terrorists “limited material support” now can come to America. So what if someone merely clothed and fed Mohamed Atta or Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? After all, garments and meals don’t blow up. Welcome to America, Mustafa!Meanwhile, the Justice Department is working hard to revoke the asylum of and deport the Romeikes. This evangelical-Christian family was granted refuge in America to escape prosecution for homeschooling their children, which German law forbids. So, Obama believes, those who are only somewhat helpful to deadly, anti-U.S. terrorists may become Americans, while religiously oppressed homeschoolers who face prison should get the hell out.

I weep for my country.

Good ole NRO. Lying their asses off to stir up the low information sort to bring in the loot.

The change allows asylum seekers who gave incidental or unintentional support to be considered.

As to the Romeike's, no matter how much the RR whines simply because a nation says all of its children will be educated in a school does not make for persecution so severe we will grant asylum.

The differences between TS and DK's posts is glaring. I agree with TS and I too weep for my country.

What else can the president do with such a do nothing Congress? He can't do anything he wants. If he could why wouldn't he raise the minimum wage for everyone by executive order instead of only federal contract workers? Why wouldn't he get rid of the employer mandate? Why wouldn't he change the ACA to base eligibility for subsidies on income alone instead of access to employer provided health insurance that only subsidizes the worker and not the family?

Moonhead -> RE: It seems like a new outrage daily (2/18/2014 7:02:30 AM)

Fair points, but look at it from a hysterical conservative's point of view: Congress is there to rubberstamp whatever the President wants (they always do when there's a Republican president, after all), so if they can block the Kenyan from doing something, then it must be because he's crap, rather than the Congress being full of obstructionist fillibusterers.

Perhaps you could find a Think Progress or HuffnPoo article to back that up, Lucy? I'm sure you could, if you tried.

One thing that is slowly happening is that the Left is losing its grip. The narrative the Left has propagated for so long is eroding. It's visible in their language, being brazenly ratcheted up higher on an almost daily basis.

It must bother the President no end that he has to contend with the likes of FOX News, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Breitbart News, Glenn Beck’s The Blaze, Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller, The Weekly Standard, National Review Online, James O’Keefe and thousands of independent bloggers too numerous to name, plus a network of millions of conservatives sharing the content they create on social media. Questions on the IRS’s oppressive tactics against conservative groups (there’s no other way to describe it); the killing of an American ambassador at Benghazi, Libya, and the tragicomedy that Obamacare has become, will now keep surfacing. Thus the President’s evident petulance. And it just kills his supporters that the most progressive President since Wilson, or perhaps ever, is being blocked from implementing what is to them a beautiful vision of government-led bliss and finally transforming the country into another industrial social democracy. The President’s backers look down on Sen. Cruz, and tellingly their biggest complaint is not that he’s conservative but that he refuses to play along like many did before him.

The Right, for all their faults, have been forced to play by the Left's rules; the narrative. RINOs like Boehner have consistently caved. The McCains have played footsie with the Left for quite some time. They are not the Right.

Laugh at the Tea Party all you want, Leftists. Deride them at your leisure. They're the Right that's slowly taking the gloves off. If history, in its slowness and fullness, is any guide, you of the Left are in for the greatest shellacking in history.

Really?
And there was me thinking that they were a clade of astroturf fuckwits who aren't even smart enough to realise that the people who are funding and manipulating them are the same Koch bros who are behind most of the stuff they spend all their time whining about.
(Other than the ACA, obvs.)

The put upon right seems to imagine an equivalence between their self-serving "woe is me" alternate reality ......and the rest of the world.

Not so.

Most folks take responsibility for themselves and their conduct......

Then there`s the right.
